Albuquerque to Phoenix

If there's no snow, I would take I-40 to Flagstaff, then I-17 to Phoenix. The Ride up to Flagstaff is fairly gentle going west on I-40, going down I-17 you will come across steeper grades and tighter turns, but nothing unmanageable, it is an interstate after all. However, if it was snowy, I'd avoid that route and go south on I-25 to I-10 it is a lot longer, but if you avoid delays because of snow, it might work out better.

Since there isn't a chance of much snow today, I'd take I-40. YMMV.

Thank you.

Accident Last Evening

So, a pickup rearended you? Did you have a trailer or were you bobtail? Why is your truck damaged so much that you are losing it?

I think El Passo has the worst driver's I have ever seen. However, most four wheeler, don't know how to enter or exit an interstate. They don't know how to merger either.

Construction pickup truck with a trailer. Its the trailer that "dug" into my side from the front drove tire all the way to the bumper on driver's side. I was attached to a trailer but it was not damaged. If I could, I would post the pics.

Oh man, Serah I'm glad to hear you are okay! Did someone crash into you while your tractor was disabled and parked on the shoulder? Did you have a trailer hooked to you? Man, that sounds scary!

But surely, since you and I are both Texans, you can't be serious about Texas drivers being the worst! confused.gif

Old School, I was already on the highway, right lane (3 lanes plus exit lane}. Guy came off an exit but was too impatient and went behind me to get onto the middle lane. A driver in the middle lane did not let him in so he was forced to crash into me. I lived in NY and NJ and l thought everyone was fast...till l moved to TX. Not all areas have careless, fast drivers but Dallas!!!! Even the cop told me of all the states he has worked in, the worst drivers he has seen are in TX.

I am ok and so are the guys in the other pick-up truck. Happened so fast in the Dallas area on 183W towards DFW. Now l know for sure TX drivers are the worst drivers. They even crashed my 3 triangles which l placed behind my truck.

In the meantime l have time to say goodbye to my truck.....silly but we had already "bonded". Company is trying to get me another truck.

I know some situations are unavoidable but please stay safe out there, especially in Dallas during rush hour. Its sinking in now and l realize it could have been much, much worse!

They turned me loose!

Congrats Roadpilot. You must have had a wonderful trainer. When I got my truck the stale cigarette odor was terrible. I cleaned everything and also used Bounce dryer sheets which I placed in every corner. Took awhile but my truck doesn't smell of stale cigs any more!

Is This for Drivers Nationwide?

Just read the following

September 14, 2017 5:08 am ,

Class A Commercial Drivers License holders may be in for a surprise the next time they go to renew their license if they are not up to speed with the latest requirements. Beginning July 31st all Class A CDL holders and those applying for their Class A CDL are required to become a Certified Trucker Against Trafficking (CTAT). Scott Hardin, spokesperson for the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration, says there are a number of people still not aware of the new requirement and it's the department's goal to make sure CDL license holders aren't inconvenienced when they go to renew or apply.Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson signed ACT 922 into law in April requiring the CTAT training designed, for those involved with the trucking industry, to recognize the signs of modern day slavery, or human trafficking. According to statistics from their website http://www.truckersagainsttrafficking.org/, human trafficking has been reported in all 50 states and the number of victims in the U.S. is estimated in the hundreds of thousands.

To become certified completion of a free 30-minute program is required and can be found at http://education.truckersagainsttrafficking.org/lesson/the-tat-training-video/. Participants will watch a video and take a short quiz afterward. Upon passing an option will be given to print and/or download the certificate. Taking a screenshot of the certificate on a mobile device is also acceptable.

Once a copy of the certificate is obtained it can be presented to the Department of Finance and Administration when applying for or renewing the Class A CDL.

The Mountain Home Revenue Office is located at 200 East 8th Street, Suit 102.

If a Class A CDL holder's company has already implemented the Truckers Against Trafficking training, the employer may call 612-8882050 to inquire about creating a co-branded certificate, which would waive the online training requirement.
