Training new drivers at Werner.

So I'm now a trainer for Werner enterprises. Just over a year and a half ago I came here for help getting my cdl. I can say this site helped me a whole lot. Just felt I should pop in and pass on the news. So anyone headed that way my truck is a red 2012 Volvo truck number 13999. Also if anyone sees me out there gimme a yell on the cb my handle is viking or walk up if my curtains open.

Hello! I need some advice about a friend whos with a trainer right now. She is a recent grad from Roadmaster and started with her trainer yesterday. She's 100% about doing things right and is ready to learn.. This is something she's wanted for a long time. She started her first morning heading out the truck door to do her pre-trip inspection when her trainer ask where she was going. She told her trainer where she was going and was told not to worry about doing that. she went to do it anyway. All was fine except the tandems weren't right. Trainer said they needed to get going, tandems are fine. At the first weigh station they get pulled to the side. DOT starts measuring the tandems. The trainer goes in the truck leaving my buddy to deal with DOT. my buddy was driving. She was given a $100 citation. When she got in the truck to do whats needed to notify the company, the trainer had already done it. Something else she has been doing is going to her bunk and sleeping while my buddy is driving. Should she talk to the company or keep quiet? she was told if she ask for a different trainer, she could be waiting a month for another trainer. Any advise is welcome. This site has helped her so much!!

Roadmaster CDL school located in W. Memphis,Ar 2014

First off, this is a very helpful sight! When my partner decided to get her CDL's I started researching and found you. you've been a HUGE help and I thank you! We have used your High Road study guides and tests a lot. My partner is attending Roadmaster in W. Memphis,Ar now. We talk each day. At the end of week 1 she has her permit and is doing well. She has bragged daily about the great instructors and says its a great school! They go above and beyond to help all they can. She was recruited by Jeremiah Espinoza out of the Orlando location. He is a different story. That man lied several times while trying to get her to go to Roadmaster. He lied about upfront cost, starting dates and more. Since my partner was working, I myself spoke with him several times. We have had a very rough summer money wise and were honest with him about needing to know about every penny she would need. He said he had the upfront cost down to $80. The second day she was there, she was told $160. She had a total of $155 to her name. $80 for school and the rest for food. He told her to keep $30 and give the rest to the school. Have $30 for food for 3 week!?!?!? There is at least one other student there who has made the same complaint. So far, this is a great school. Great instructors and people. Just beware of the recruiters!!! I sure wish I would have recorded those calls! He even said he'd send her a $20 Walmart card to help her with food. This is not about that but the lies!!

CDL Traing with Knight Transportation in Memphis, TN

I'm hoping to be in school with Knight as soon as I pass my permit and for the same reasons as you ,Alan C. Money is very tight right now so I'm trying to plan ahead in every way possible. Can anyone give a more detailed schedule of the time from DOT physical and drug tests till I'm driving with a trainer? Will I start school the same week then be on the road the next? Also, what will I need once driving with a trainer as for stuff in the truck and food expenses? I drove for a few yrs about 10 yrs ago so I'm a newbie again lol this site has helped so much!
