Rookie mistake turning around

Good trip planning, and extensive research on the routes, and your pick up or delivery locations !!

use Google Earth, to see the real image of where you're going. It can be a grief saver, knowing exactly what the place looks like, and where the entry and exit gates/points are. Of course, google images can be older, so not always exactly accurate, but gives a better idea of the places.

And never rush yourself

Being flexible

I grew up listening to S&G my parents had their albums, along with a few other off the wall bands. Dad also like the bagpipe music, the Tiajuana Brass, Don Ho, Tiny Tim,etc, mom had an album of the Hermans Hermits lol

As the topic says, being flexible has lots of perks, no matter what you're doing. I've always believed in the "Do unto others" motto in my life. Like they say, "ya get more bee's with honey, than vinegar".....Even though I am more the blunt, tell it like it is type, there is a proper time and place to be like that.

I was always the "go to" guy, even as a mechanic, when I could be, without a hassle or whining. Trucking, I was always flexible, and did things for our DM's that others wouldn't. Which thru out the 3 years I drove, served me well. Lot of the time, I could get into a drop door early, and be on my way=easy peasy. Seen way too many idiots talking chit to the recievers, demanding more than they even derserved.

Much of our current society has gotten way too of the, "ME,ME,ME !!" entitled mentality, which has dribbled down to the younger generations. Karma is REAL, so I've always tried my best, to give out the good kind, than the negative stuff. And learnt to control my VERY explosive temper I had in my youth !

And now here in Asia, you have to be even more mindful of your attitude towards the natives. It CAN get you in trouble if you get lippy to the wrong people. This Monday, example, an American MMA fighter 37 yrs old, got his azz shot over his drunken groping of a female in a club. Heard he died (video looked like he may have) but some said he was recovering?

Some Filipino rapper shot him outside the club, when he tried to open the car door he was in, driving away. And was around 8 people also around the scene on CCTV. Not the 1st time I've heard about Americans, getting killed, over usually alcohol related issues in bars.

Scanning paper documents

With CRST 2019-2021, we used the transflo app....With Legends '21-'22, we used an app they had (forget the name) Similar to transflo... And I had large manila envelopes, to put the actual paperwork in... I'd drop those off monthly to our dispatch office.

Would you pull this trailer?

Well,Mr. Curmudgeon, we did run into a trailer or 2 with CRST that had NO registration with the trailers. Or the box that held em, had to cover lid torn off and hence the paperwork got lost....

So I took a pic of it, sent it in to our DM, and had him find, and send us some kind of papers, for the trailer to C.Our.'A'es lol. ......Even though I remember only actually being inspected TWICE, in my 22 months with them. Both level 1's which we passed easily.

Dui and getting cdl

In this day and age of computers, that DUI WILL follow you, no matter what state you move to lol....A simple records check, by any hiring company, WILL see the Ark. DWI/DUI citation....

Would you pull this trailer?

Probably not also, to stay on the good side of LEO lol. Otherwise, if I had the registraion to it, with the whole VIN or had them send me a copy of it. Then, depending on what's going on, "Maybe" roll with it, and document it to get fixed RIGHT. But ONLY if I had the paperwork for the trailer 99% of the time, just a plain NOPE

Why is finding a school so difficult?

RoadMasters is south of you, in Fontana, Cal. and they are owned by Werner.....I don't know if they have a school in Nor Cal.

Then based in Yuba City, is the last company I drove for, "New Legends". They (used to?) require at least 6 months experience.

If I hadn't already planned to retire early @ 62, I'd probably still be driving for them ! They treated me good, didn't micro manage me, and paid me very well (with my 2 years experience)

TMC and Drug Testing

I threw out my bongs and pipes and whatnot and have only been sober for 3 days./blockquote>

Hardly enough time, and 1 month "bussing tables" won't be either. It'll take at LEAST 6-12 months to get the THC fully out....Of course, depends on your metabolism, but, it's NOT worth taking the risk of any test, and ultimate failure.....

Surely you gotta have some other skills than cleaning tables (without knowing your age) Good luck in your quest to stay clean, and getting into trucking.

Getting a CDL in Florida a very bad idea?

All I know of Fla. is, when I drove for CRST for 22 months, we took maybe 6-7 loads to a drop yard in Miami. Never had a load coming back out, so we'd grab an empty, and they'd route us out of Miami to Georgia etc for our next load. Early on we had a load or 2 to Orlando, or Tampa, same thing, go north outta Fla. for a load onward.

Heard the same thing, loads go in, but nothing comes out of Fla.........Good luck in your quest into trucking
