MTC Truck Driving School

I can kinda understand where your coming from. First I will let you know I am not a driver yet or even went to training yet so I can't tell you experience wise. However I can tell you your not the only one that feels the way you do. I think the biggest fear alot of beginner's have is quitting a job going to the school for the trucking company than finding out they wont hire you leaving you with no job at all. Which I honestly have no idea how is even possible to deal with. I know everyone here helps anyway they can this site is a great place to learn alot.

Roehl home time and home time in general

I think I understand this correctly but possibly not. I'm going to use rohels home time for this example. I see they have a 7/4- 7/3 schedule. Now does this only apply in certain areas? Or do they work that into whatever area your from? From what I.understand home weekends is dedicated and normally is only available I'm certain areas so I was wondering if it was about the same?

Are there companies out there that are totally no touch freight

I don't know the details but from what I understand if you are missing a limb you need a working prosthetic ? For example they told my father he had to have a working prosthetic arm in order to take a cdl test again.

Insurance

I was wondering if the company's insurance covered your personal stuff in the truck. Fridge, tools, computer etc. If not how do you get this stuff covered or can you?

Is OTR beneficial to help relocate?

This may or may not pertain to you however I can tell you something from personal experience I myself just packed up the fiance and my son to move. It all made since better job, more money not where I lived before. However I quickly learned that moving away from any support network takes alot! Let's say your on the road your wife is driving from the store and the car breaks down than what. Sure you can get a tow than a rental and than fix the car but it's a holiday and no one is open.. If you don't know anyone it would be rough. So my two cents start your driving career where you have a safety net of some kind than if you can manage your own safety net later on you could consider moving.

Asking for a friend

I have a rather lengthy post here. I.have been talking to a friend of mine that has kinda kick started my thinking once again. Anyway he recently had some trouble with the law. He and his wife got into an argument and he was arrested for disorderly conduct due to the county law. Neither him or his wife pressed charges and the argument was just "loud" for their.apartment building. Anyway his lawyer is trying to.get him a misdemeanor or city ordinance violation. He is embarrassed to ask anyone so I offered to ask for him. Will this affect his driving opportunities? He also is a beginner that would be going through cdl school.
