Blacklisted?

Erma,

You don’t indicate why or how you failed your road test through the school.

It isn’t terribly important, but it does give us an idea if it was just a lack of seat/driving time, backing issues.

Also, if possible, give us an idea of who has rejected you for CDL school.

I went through Roehl Transport in their Marshfield Wi location several weeks after being rejected by Prime. Prime did not like my unemployment for 1-1/2 years which I understood.

The link Anne provided above is very helpful. Fill it out and send it as it may reach companies you had not yet applied.

Good luck and don’t give up.

For the ltl guys. Thoughts on T-Force?

I saw one of their drivers on the Mass Pike about three feet off the back bumper of a car. He was trying to help her along by blowing his air horn.

That’s about all I can say about them. I’d hate to judge a company by one driver being an idiot.

Hopefully others chime in with more than what I offered.

Good luck

Preventable accident on DAC report

I wouldn’t freak out too much about that being in your DAC report.

I’ll tell you my story

In the first 6 months of my career I damaged a Roehl trailer on the way to a delivery. I hit the back of a car carrier with the right corner of my trailer while turning into a parking spot. Pretty sure the whole corner had to be replaced. Luckily there was minimal damage to the car carrier. No damage to the cars.

Beyond the initial reporting to safety, I never heard a thing from Roehl. I lost my safety bonus, which is only right.

I’ve been working for Ruan now for 4 years on a local Target account.

They never questioned me on my DAC report (I know it’s on there).

So I’d say…relax, breathe…everything will be okay. Focus more on driving safely.

Good luck

Just took a position with TQL. Tell me how I can be a partner and not a prick.

Most on here are company drivers. There some owner operators, but very few.

I don’t think this will be an effective source of feedback.

Good luck in your new position.

Celebrating 1 year total in trucking this week

We’ll done Moe. You’ve certainly worked hard to get to this point. A lot of ups and downs.

Keep up the good work!

Carlisle, PA to Middletown, CT

I81 north to 84 east is the less expensive and during the week, less delays.

84 in CT can get congested at times.

I went over the GW last week heading to Brooklyn. On the way into NYC I lost 2 hours due to an accident on the bridge.

On the way back, I lost 2-1/2 hours due to emergency maintenance caused by the accident. I should have known better and taken an alternate route (95 north, 287 west to NYS Thruway and the Tappan Zee)

You’ll learn these time saving and cost saving routes.

Take care.

Schneider says I owe them $2k after being termed from CDL training in a week and a half

It won’t go into garnish or be taken from your account. But it will be put into collections and will hit you credit. You’ll have to try and work something out with them.

I wouldn’t worry about your credit score. All a credit score does is let you get into more debt.

Once she gets a job and generates an income then she can deal with them. Until then, I’d let it sit.

You probably do owe the debt. You’ve done all that is required.

If they call back, simply say that you have no money and are looking for employment with other companies.

Tell them you will be in touch when you find employment.

Leave it at that. They can’t garnish, they can’t take it from your account.

It sounds like you ran into an impatient instructor. I remember Roehl tried a couple times to send Jolie(a former member here) home a couple times saying she would never pass. She held her ground and insisted on completing the program. She passed with flying colors.

Hopefully Swift will accept you into the training.

Good luck!

The George Washington bridge.

I may have to make some trips over the bridge to the Hunts Point Market. I can refuse to go there. Why is going over the GW bridge and Hunts Point Market undesirable, according to what I hear?

It’s extremely expensive and extremely slow going depending on time of day.

I run loads once or twice a week depending on my schedule. My most recent run was Monday. I lose anywhere from 1/2’hour to an hour at that bridge. This was at roughly 7 am.

One of the things that makes it frustrating is the design. You have 7 or eight lanes going through the tolls that all weave down to 3-4. You really need to be patient traveling through there. Also, watch your mirrors. .

As I said Bruce, allow for the time to get through it. Last I knew it was 94 dollars one way, but I think they had a price increase .

Hope this helps.

Who is the Better Company

Since you are either still in school or recently graduated, I’d go with the one that will hire you.

Good luck!
