Captain, you are going to ace that thing. You are so over prepared you are not only going to impress yourself, but also those folks at the DMV.
Go get em!
Thanks Old school but no such thing as over prepared. Are the questions the same or very similar at DMV.

LOL I used The High Road Training Program over and over for all the parts in need for class A combo and air brakes till I got 100% every time without looking anything up. I'm still nervous about the actual DMV test but there should be NO chance of failing it now... RIGHT GUYS?

If I go to school in my home state would it be at my advantage to go to DMV pre school and have my tests complete and learner's permit in hand my first day at school leaving more time to focus on other things I need to learn in the short 3 weeks.

On page 83 question 8 on a non-combo vehicle how much air loss can there be in 1 minute with service brake applied. My answer 3 psi correct was 4. I read it 3 times and it says 3 psi for single vehicle. Is single the same as non-combo.
OK disregard. Took it again gave same answer of 3 psi and it was correct this time. WTF. O well s@#* happens

The way that I remember this for the practice testing is...
I just think to myself, 2 and 3, 3 and 4.
2 and 3 - no brakes applied (2 is single, 3 is combo) 3 and 4 - brakes applied (3 is single, 4 is combo)
Leif
That is what I see but 3 for a non combo was the wrong answer. I assume a non combo is the same as a single. Either I'm confused or that question if FUBAR. Wonder if anyone else has seen it. I will go back and look. Maybe I read it wrong.

If there is one thing ive heard 1000 times about trucking OTR its bring your own food. So i was wondering what id your favorite food item to bring , what is you meal that you like to make in your truck. And what cooking utensils/machine do you use to make it. I'll hanf up now and listen to your response.
Not a trucker yet but I got this one. They sell all kinds on 12 volt cooking supplies and I use some on my boat. The coffee maker is slow but works and there is a slow cooker like a crock pot that works well also. I have a small round grill that can free stand... it is stainless steel and takes a small propane bottle. . The screw in kind like for a camping stove. Camping stove will work I guess but the stainless you could secure outside the truck and won't rust. They are costly... about 200 bucks but last forever in in a salt water conditions so will hold up well on a truck. You need to get one at a marine supply store like west marine if you want one. I don't know how well you cook but I actually do all the cooking at home so I have an endless list of things to make at sea or on the road. There is a lunch box stove also. Just be mindful if it will COOK or just heat. Also some 12 volt coolers That can save you money while out there. Good thinking. If you don't cook you will spend 600 bucks on food a month easy eating fast food and at restaurants

Back in the late 70's (damn, I must be getting old) that's how I learned to drive. They company gave me the keys and said 'go for it'. I taught myself!
But, the new DOT regulations and insurance companies do not allow that to happen. That is why I am researching school options and making a career plan with the aid of TruckingTruth. I want the correct training, and cannot afford to get 'past the test' but then not be able to get a job.
I even had the examiner tell me at the licensing office to avoid borrowing a friend's truck.
Ya I got the message from old school. It was just a thought. I think I need to hold out and find a company school close to home and preferably home terminal close to home as well.

I wore out High Road
Air brakes was an easy one for me but I spent many a year doing Virginia state inspections.
