Backing Practiceâ„¢ 14

I liked Ccw's backing setup. More room out by the green arrow and all backing is driver-side backing

Avoiding clown town (Atlanta)

Come on up to the NE part of the country. A few runs across the George Washington Bridge and a few runs through the Boroughs of NY and you will love Atlanta.

What yall do while at the docks?

Trying to keep up on my Quantum physics project and when I do serious Dock time I pull out my Kindle and read. Reading The Wheel of Time Series now that is like 14-books at about 30 hours a book. So in about 10-years I should finish it. I also have an iPod with music and Audible audio books on it...all mentioned above are one stop shopping at Amazon.

Werner or Schneider?

I work the Schneider dedicated account for International Paper. My (DBL) boss has given me the okay to park near my house if I find a safe place. They have a form that you fill out and have the owner of the property sign it. I park at the Schneider Carlisle, PA Operating Center (OC) which is about 85-miles from my house. I park my truck there instead of finding a place closer for a few reasons.

1. I drive 85 miles to work each week and 85 miles to home each week. Figure most people drive 20-miles to work and 20-miles home each work day. So they drive about 200-miles a week. I drive 170-miles a week.

2. When I need any service done on my truck I just have my DBL schedule it during my hometime. I pull into the OC and tell them my truck is here and I need it back in 34-hours at the end of my hometime. The maintenance crew always does a great job on my truck.

3. Geographically it is better for my working the International Paper account.

Talk to your DBL about what would work best for you. I have found Schneider to be pretty accommodating to me.

Lazy people create opportunity for others and we Love Lazy people.

I can't relate to lazy people. We don't speak the same language. I don't understand you. I don't want to understand you.

Need advice on path to cdl

hi all, I am new and I have a question about getting a class A cdl I need a no money or very little up front option because I am broke and poor. roadmaster is local but because I have crap credit so they are a no go. no other local cdl schools. option A: swift said they will take me but is have to goto Missouri for the school (I live in Tampa florida) and I need $155 + food money for the 3 weeks of school. option B: get the permit myself at the dmv, but how do I get started driving??? I need a truck to take the test in. who would hire me doing it myself?

thank you

Get together all the information on what you want to do in becoming a Trucker (what schools, getting CDL, benefits and pay for new truckers, etc.). Figure out how much money you need for yourself up to your first paycheck and than add another 15% on top of that. Write it all up so when you go to a friend or a bank you can explain what you are going to do, how you are going to do it, and how you are going to pay them back to see if they will give you a short-term loan. Think of it as a business plan selling yourself and your new career. Good luck!
