My Status Changed!! Rookie to Experienced

Congrats that you feel comfortable enough to update your status! :) It's a good feeling, no?

I'm not sure if you ever mentioned this, but I'm curious about your handle, 87Wrangler... does it have any special meaning to you? Or am I reading into it too much and it just happens to be your favorite ride... a 1987 Jeep Wrangler? :)

These National Days don’t mean much. I was in my truck all day on National Shut-In Visitation Day and no one came to visit me.

BK, you may want to double check that you are sharing your location properly on social media so the masses can find you in your truck! rofl-3.gif

NO EXP /NO HIRE

I think we are dealing with a troll here....

At the top of this thread, Al states that he has 20 years experience...

Then in another thread under the same title in the Training Diaries he claims to have 15 years experience...

But, as Banks already pointed out, Al bragged about getting his CDL without going to any school less than 8 years ago...

So how does anyone who has held their CDL for less that 8 years have 15 or 20 years of driving experience? confused.gif

“Imma GO GETTA”

Yes you are! As in “Imma GO GETTA another job!”

Wow! Can we flag this as the "BEST ANSWER"!?! I haven't laughed so hard at a reply in quite some time... rofl-1.gif

TT Thread throwing an error when clicked

I tried clicking into the following thread to read it and found that it is giving a permission error every time. I tried a few other threads and everything works just fine. Just this one topic... whether I click on the title or the Jump to new replies link.

Single drivers

I've never heard of this being an official thing, though in a way I guess it does make sense. My guess is that the awareness could be for folks to think of their friends & family who are single and who may be lonely or depressed following Valentines day.

I plugged what I wrote above into Chat GPT and received the following response...

It sounds like you're talking about "Singles Awareness Day" or "Singles Appreciation Day," which is indeed observed by some people as a day to celebrate being single. It can also serve as a reminder to show appreciation for friends and family who are single, especially if they might feel left out or lonely after Valentine's Day. It's a great way to promote inclusivity and support for individuals regardless of their relationship status.

Interstate 36

I was a bit baffled when I read 'Interstate', but quickly figured out it is not an Interstate, but a State Highway. Since I was bored and did a little bit of clicking around in Google maps street view. It does appear that trucks are allowed on this highway, I did notice that all the trucks I could see look to be local, supporting local industry or mining or something. Very few places to pull out and stop. While it's a very beautiful view, not a place where I would want to be stuck broken down in a big truck. I couldn't even imagine the stress of being on this highway on a dark night! embarrassed.gif

A New Truckers App from TT: What Would You Like To See?

A couple things that pop into mind that I would find helpful.

1. How far away is the next weigh station on my route?

2. How far away is the next rest area?... How far away is the one after the next one?... if I skip the next rest area or there is no open parking spots... I think to myself, can I wait until I get to the next one or should I bail the interstate and hit a truck stop instead if I have to use the restroom? If I know how far that next rest area will be I can make that decision more effectively.

3. Distance to the next exit or next truck friendly exit would be nice as well.

My ELD and Garmin GPS would typically give a heads up when approaching the next weigh station, but the alerts are hit or miss. Consistent and obvious alerts for these as well as other approaching things would be nice to have.

Had a preventable accident and got fired

...and after rehab I was let go.

Rehab?!? Can you elaborate on that one just little bit?
