My Second Day at CRST

I already graduated from Hawkeye training school in Waterloo Iowa and got my class A CDL, they are a good school to go to. I went from there to CRST in Cedar Rapids Iowa this my second day there. I haven't seen any lead drivers around I don't even know if they have any available for all the guys coming in. Has anyone been here and can give me some advice as for what to expect from this company? I live in Chicago and want to do dedicated but I don't think they have any terminals around there.

Swift training through Eagle Training Services.

I am going on my fifth week with Eagle and so far I am still struggling. My first week in the yard was practice offset parking, parallel parking, and straight backing. Straight backing piece of cake mind you we are on uneven gravel yard ground. I never drove a stick before so I didn't have to be reprogramed but the 10 speed shift pattern was a Beotch the first week. First instructor wanted me to upshift by watching my tac and down shift by watching my tac. Well that didn't ****ing work!

Swift Transportation.

$9.50/hour $450-$500 per week hardly seems like a good paycheck to be driving 10 hours a day six days a week. That's about what I made driving a School Bus. The lady on the phone said I would be making 37 cents per mile and about $750 a week, and would get a raise after the first year.

I have been accepted into Swift and will be starting training soon in Illinois. Has anyone been with this company, I just want an idea of what to expect? Thanks!

Rejected by Prime!

I completed the online application last week for Prime. I got a call yesterday from a recruiter, he stated we can't move forward with my application because I haven't worked in the past six months and because I was terminated from my previous employer. I understand this may be there policy, but I persionly think its BS! Any suggestions on where I might try to go next? Thanks for any helpful feed back.

Getting a CDL permit before going to Prime

How do I apply for the CDL permit and how much does it cost? I actually already have a Class B CDL so I am wondering if I will need a new permit for the Class A? Does any of this make sense?

Looking for a good Truck Driving company that pays for training in Chicago.

Hi guys I am new to this site and have a few questions about Truck Driving Company's? I have driven a school bus for 6 years and figure why not try for my class A! I looked up C.R England but they are all the way in Richmand Indiana. I live in Chicago so I would rather go to a company that offers training here in Chicago. I don't have a car so I have to travel within city limits for schooling. Any advice would be great! Thanks!
