Can you request a Big Sister to be you Mentor/Trainer?

Hi Ladies. Is it possible to request a female mentor/trainer? I would hope to have a Sisterhood intuition, some of the boys don't play nice, in school, and it would be refreshing not to feel all jacked up learning how to control 80,000 pounds on wheels. Any seasoned drivers advice would be helpful. thanks sis.- Ladies Of Trucking ForumTruck Driving Blogs

I have thought about the same thing,,,,,,my husband trusts and loves me, but i think would be reassuring to him if i was with a female..... But after reading lots,,,, i understand it could lead to a longer training wait,,,ugh

Curiousity Has Got The Best of Me

HI! I have thought about driving for a few years. Im 44 years old, kids are all grown. I have always wanted to travel and be able to see sights. Not talking week vacations,,,just a few hours here and there.... I live in Northern Maine,,,,,so the CDL Training Schools are not near me. I do not have the funds to pay for schooling up front, and I have thought about scholarships, however, that can take some time to get through the paperwork. I have researched the different driving schools. There are positive and negatives to all of them......I was just wondering if anyone would be willing to share with me their personal experiences......I really would like to get going soon...... I have tons of questions that I would like ask but don't want to fill up the stream. Would love it if a couple of individuals wouldn't mind adding me on facebook to chat so I can ask questions.....

Thank you all for your help! lil

Decision making for a School and Company

Hi!!!! I recently made the decision that I would like to take on driving as a career...... I feel like time is wasting while I'm researching but I feel that is an important part of decision making. Can you share about your experiences,, if you were hired and receieved your training through a company,, if you were self pay. Or used a scholarship,,, how the pay was during training, how long you had to train before working independently? And any other tips for starting the training journey.....
