Battling the DOT Doc's

It's kind of a kick in the rear because my life long childhood dream was to be a truck driver. I always loved trucks and heavy equipment. I guess thing's happen for a reason.

You definitely hit the nail on the head with that one . . . don't know if you know the Lord or not, but He is in control of your life (whether you realize it, acknowledge it or not) and there is a reason . . . the attitude you are exhibiting during this setback is noble and to be admired . . . hang in there as He won't let you down if you trust in Him . . .

Battling the DOT Doc's

Hello all I'm a new member here and based in Minnesota. About 3 1/2 years ago I was diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Dealt with it all my life but just never knew what it was until I had a few hospital visits with severe anxiety and panic attacks. My PCP put me on Celexa and Klonopin. I've been on and off the Klonopin quite a few times but no success getting off it because both meds together work perfect! Mid summer 2013 I went to a local community college and got a 180 hour certification done. I then started with Kane Transport based out of Inver Grove heights pulling a tanker. I just hauled asphalt. I left them back in March of last year and since then I have not drove. I recently attempted to reduce the med and aquired a flat bed job, Got my DOT card back and drug screening was good to go. Then wham out of know where withdrawal symptoms like crazy the past few days. It appears I will have to exit the industry and go back to my Mechanical/Warehouse experience for some time.

Rather than take the meds and drive, I will turn in my DOT card and notify them about returning to my Med. It's not approved by the DOT because it causes one to become sedated/tired while taking it. Some people have told me to lie about it and I won't do that and endanger others on the road.

It's kind of a kick in the rear because my life long childhood dream was to be a truck driver. I always loved trucks and heavy equipment. I guess thing's happen for a reason.
