Have pre-hires gone digital?
Hey all,
I am preparing to start school the last week of February, and have applied to several companies. I have gotten favorable feedback from all my applications over the phone (expected this from the recruiters). I have not received any pre-hires in the mail, but did get an email back from my top choice (Pre Inc) asking to set up a date for orientation. They are holding my application until I am almost finished with training.
My questions are...
Is the email invite to orientation the equivalent to an electronic pre-hire, or should I be expecting something in the mail?
Are the other companies likely waiting until I am closer to completing school to send pre-hires out?
Bonus question:
Who do most companies use for background check, and am I able to run the same check? I have heard horror stories of things popping up unexpectedly/erroneously on a background check, and would like to check it out myself beforehand.
