Guys I need help after a bad week.

PSP is the score for the driver (Inefficiently Government Operated). Things get posted to this only by the way of inspections or infractions. Infractions can be something as simple as speeding to reckless operation of a CMV in the commission of a felony. Basically if you as the driver are issued a ticket or a warning during a traffic stop or inspection it will show up here.

To add to this I do know that every time you have an inspection whether you get a violation or not it goes on your PSP reportl, plus I also drive as a team and while off duty in the sleeper my Co-driver went though the scales in MS and the DOT officer asked for us both to come inside with all our information and that's on my PSP listed as a Co-driver no infractions though.

Blew by weigh station

I ran into a confusing scale situation this morning. I was passing the eastbound scale on I-90, west of Rapid City SD, and the LED sign clearly said closed. But then I got a red light on my prepass! I wasn't sure what to do so I spent the next few seconds debating in my mind. But when I approached the scale and saw no trucks there, as well as all the other trucks in front of me skipping it, I made the snap decision to keep going. I can only hope I made the right choice.

If I do get a ticket, there had better be a log of the exact time I drove by, as well as a log of the status of the sign at that precise moment. Otherwise I guess it would become a case of he said she said. Pretty sure I would lose that battle.

I have had that same thing happen to me once in KY and another in TN. Has been over a month since both of those have happened and i have heard nothing about it so i would almost 100% would say you are good to go but ya never know crazier things have happened. My guess on the deal it's that the previous on duty DOT officer remembered to turn the closed sign on but forgot to put the PrePass to green light everyone. Just a guess though maybe someone else with more knowledge will chime in.

Tyndall AFB

Chances are they have your license number, your home address, your company name, your truck number, maybe even your SS#, etc, etc. Send it back, too easy to track you down and present you with a souvenir you do not want.

Cool place though...I've been there many times. Best beach in the US...

Thanks GTown that's what I was thinking since it has a pass # and it was assigned to me. Yes the place is awesome and totally agree on the beach I've vacationed there many times.

Tyndall AFB

So today I had the great experience of a delivery to Tyndall Air Force Base in sunny Panama City FL. Have never been there before and to gain entrance they pretty much asked me for everything but my first born lol. Once all that was done and truck was passed from the inspectors they handed me a gate pass and directions to my unloading dock. Well I noticed on the pass it says it must be surrendered at time of check in, well no one asked for it and I forgot to give it back. On the back it has an address to return to if found and plainly says that it's U.S. Government property. Anyone with any experience on this should I send it back or keep it as a souvenir? Don't want to get in any trouble over it so that's why I'm here ask.confused.gif

How do truckers typically seek medical attention if they need it OTR?

I had a dental emergency and ended up getting a taxi go a dentist in twin falls idaho. Of course he ripped me off but it's how it goes. Truckers usually get ripped off I found out, everywhere you go someone is going to take advantage.

Same here had a tooth that needed to be taken out in Troy IL was fortunate that the dentist was only about a 1/4 mile from the truck stop but I paid $250 cash price for an extraction that I can get done at home for $75 cash price.

Holy Shifting Batman!

Thanks Errol! And if you watch the video, can you explain what is going on? That's terrifying.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but the shifter on the left is the splitter, it does the same thing that the switch does on the trucks we drive.

GVWR

Gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) means the value specified by the manufacturer as the loaded weight of a single motor vehicle.

That was copied and pasted straight from FMCSA 390.5 definitions, so anything over 66000 lbs is illegal.

Earl J. ....I'd like to make sure you don't think that anyone on here is "making fun of your misfortune". I responded to the previous poster before me about the popcorn just to put in a little relaxing humor in an otherwise unfortunate situation that this has been for you. I try to deal with life's punches with a pinch of humor, it makes things easier. But that might be just me? Just wanted to make sure you'd know, because it's not my cup of tea to make fun of others troubles. :) I think you've seen from everyone else on here what is the right thing to do, and NOW. Don't wait, and find yourself saying "I should have taken care of this yesterday..."

Never took it wrong at all, hell at times all you can do is laugh. Trust me I love humor, heck my girlfriend just sent me a pic yesterday of where she backed her car into a power pole, I immediately called her and when she said hello I said what's up CRASH lol
