A Surprising Observation About Maverick Transportation
Grandpa- Excellent writing. Very interesting about Maverick in Little Rock. Another example- big cities will have good areas- Maverick’s area and also dangerous areas. A coworker (not in trucking) moved to Little Rock. As he drove thru LR downtown, he stopped at a stop sign, he saw a man walking toward another man, who was sitting in a parked car. The man walking pulled a gun and killed the man. He quit his LR job and moved back to St Louis, where we both worked at McDonnell Douglas. He also had more stories about LR.

Accident as company driver, now being sued personally
Get a lawyer. I’ve heard those that defend themselves without a lawyer, it ends up badly. The court system is complicated. My son has legal issues, and I have attended the hearings, so I have personal experience.

Wow Kandy, really? You swear with your right hand on the Trucking truth website that this is true? Pictures? You’re the kind of guy I want around, when there’s a problem. I’m impressed! I’m guessing you’ve got other instances. Come on let’s hear about them.

A+ advice Rob. I’ll remember this one if I’m losing air pressure, or it’s low.
Decided to take an extra load out today, real easy 8ish hour day 1 stop to Rock Island Illinois. Well, that ain't gonna happen. Everything was going great until I heard a beep, followed by the word "CHECK" illuminate and then transmission air supply low. I look at my pressure to find primary at 90 and secondary around 75. I keep a close eye on them and plan to make it to the next ramp rather than sitting on the interstate. 1 Mile before the ramp I began slowing down by coasting to the point I was around 50 as I got off. Used ONLY my engine brake (to save my air) until i was going slow enough to get on the shoulder and safely come to a complete stop. I had a similiar issue with one of our trucks a few months ago which was an air valve not operating correctly. Apparently we're having issues with our newer Volvos having this problem. For those wondering its a 2021 truck with only 143k. I only point this out to show new drivers that just because you have a new truck doesn't mean you won't have issues.
It could be worse, truck still runs so I can stay warm and there's a small truckstop just a short 30 yard walk from where I'm at. Roadside called with an ETA of 89 minutes. What sucks is there is a wrecker and mechanics here but our roadside service is sending someone from 40 miles away

A slight change for me starting soon.
Big Scott. I thought you were a trainer or training to be a CFI trainer. Are you going to be a trainer on this new dedicated route?

You got a speeding ticket and you’re asking if this will affect your ability to get a job. What I would have done is immediately contact a lawyer to get the ticket reduced or dropped. My last ticket was 9 years ago. I now am doing everything I can to protect my Class A CDL. IF I were to screw up again, the hundreds of dollars I would spend to get the ticket fixed would be well worth it.

Looking for ideas to improve efficiency of regional carrier.
JB Here’s an idea. Do what the best does. On YouTube every Fri Prime Inc MO has a meeting. What is your companies advertised public gross revenue? In 2015 Prime had about $1.5B. The last I googled was about 2.2 in 2021. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s way above 2.5 this year. I assume this is just transport revenue. In other words I see several/many other ways the owner is bringing it in. I’ll probably get beat up over my numbers, then I’ll have to post it. Good luck!
