When you get sick while on the job?

Not in forehand but for head lol! The needles are small and do no go deep. My wife says it feels like bee stings. But then goes away rather quickly. Did you have a chance to look it up? If not I can send you some links.

No hire

I agree. I have not worked for 10 years and got 5 prehires. A few companies past me by. You just need to explain what you were doing during that time and as others mentioned will need to get a notorized note from witnesses to what you were doing. I was disabled for that time frame, and had no problems. Good luck!

Is it like riding a bike?

I start my orientation in January and by the time it gets here I will have been out of a truck for 3 months. How much of a concern should I have for being rusty? Through school I picked up on shifting pretty fast and not sure how much shifting we will actually do at orientation since the trucks are auto. I'm aware I will be switching to manual for hills and certain other circumstances.

Hoping I don't need to find a place to rent time on a truck. Any thoughts from you all?

You should be fine. I was in the same vote, almost 4 months. At Schneider only had 3 weeks to prove my worth. It comes back. I have a bad habit of overthinking things and it makes for unneeded stress. I am learning!

I actually did pay 150 for 2 hours of time backing and shifting a week before I went. It helped no doubt, but honestly think it would have been fine either way.

If you did find in school, and learned fast -/I would say don't sweat it! If you are concerned, rent a truck for 2 hours, but like I said I think you will be fine.

Starting at Schneider

I ended getting training pay for 17 days. The second week was the biggest pay check because it was for 7 days.

Schneider allows zero pets, zero weapons unless it's a hammer or tire club. A knife that is smaller then 4" is permissible. You may get home the weekend before you leave, but my buddy went out Saturday solo after graduating Friday.

You don't get paid 80. 7 days for 3 weeks. The first week is Wed-Saturday. The second weeks is Sunday- Saturday and the third week is Sunday till you graduate which could be Thursday or Friday.

They do have computers you can use for the computer training modules.

It is a great place, and most people are really friendly. They expect you to work hard and show respect and they will show you respect too. They treat you as equals, and there is really no sonority stuff there. The Atlas agility test is easy as long as you have no heart issues. Your not going to be tested on the slow manevour course, but it is a lot of fun!!!!

Hope that helps!

I was told different about the training pay. I asked if payed for everyday there and they told me yes you are.

I did make one mistake, you are payed for Tuesday the first week as well, and yes your payed the entire time in training but it works out to what I said. You arrive on Tuesdady and are payed Tuesday through Saturday, then Sunday through Saturday, then Sunday through usually Thursday you graduate and that ends your training pay. I believe the payroll is Sunday through Saturday but I could be wrong. Maybe it's Friday through Thurday, but either way it will work out the same. Either way you will be paid 80 for 17 or 18 days.

Also the rider policy is one rider 18 years or older or one rider 10 years or older if immediate family after you have 6 months accident and incident free driving.

PacKing is work -- getting nervous!!!!

Leaving for the Schneider Carliske OC on Thursday to finally take my tests on Friday! I am nervous as its been two weeks since I drove, and 3 weeks since I since I drove a 10 speed. Last account I was on was automatics. Hoping I adjust.

I think I have all my packing situated for my first trip. Is this to much for my first 2 week trip teaming: 1- 28" duffel bag filled with clothes 2 - a alpine big hiking back pack filled with food, muscle milk, 2 larger Gatorade bottles, electronics and will second as a laundry bag when I I store my food in truck. 3 - 1 under armor back pack filled with all work related tools and items. 4 - case of water 5- case of red bull 6 - case of pure leaf lemon ice tea 7- sleeping bag is attached to my hiking back pack 8 - pillow 9 a small hygiene bag 10- heavy coat I have all my meds and misc. items in all that too, plus my CB in case my co driver doesn't have one and my truck gps, phone, iPad, Chargers, ect.

I stayed away from coolers and stuff until I talk with the driver and see what works and what doesn't.

Is this good?

You should be good. Unless you're going to be team driving, in which case you shouldn't need the CB and truck GPS. Also, your QUALCOMM should be sufficient for gps along with an iPhone. Going to Carlisle, you can borrow the company vehicle and there are plenty of grocery stores nearby to stock up. But if you've already got the stuff, okay. Personally, I like to stock up on UTZ Sourdough Pretzels when I get to Carlisle.

I ran without a cb for about the first three months and had no issues. Glad I have it now though.

Good luck and Godspeed!

Every trucking company that has Qualcomm has GPS on it except crst... Cheap a$$e$ lol... Crst needs to step up their game

Thank you for the replies! So I guess I am good. I drove before but never team and it was only a few weeks. I know there is a decent amount of storage space. I'd rather bring a CB in case the co driver doesn't have one.

I wish I knew what was going on after I pass this test. My rehire recruiter said they would assign me a truck and then tell me who my co driver is. I know Schneider usually does their orientation for teams in Indianapolis. I am not sure if I have to wait for my co driver to pick me up, or if I am supposed to pick him up, or if I am taking a bus to him, or if he is taking a bus to me? I guess I'll figure it out later! I am not taking a Greyhound to the OC. I am hoping I get assigned a truck in Carlisle...lol
