Exact First Year Income. Week by Week!
Hey Brett, I think a FAQ section would be perfect, I thought about suggesting that the last time I read yet an other persons question about guns in trucks. It would be really handy to have all those questions and answers in one place. And Daniel, thanks for posting the info on how much you earned. I know a lot of ppl don't want to share personal financial information like that but it really is nice to know realistically what I could expect to make my first year. Thanks a bunch.

My boyfriend drives for R. C. Moore and they require drivers to frequently wash their trucks. They expect the trucks to be immaculate. They have great wash bays and fortunately there's never a wait. There's 2 or 3 bays which each fit 2 trucks at the terminal in Scarborough ME. I believe they don't reimburse drivers for normal truck washes unfortunately. Although it may be different for the long haul drivers. My bf is at his terminl once a week so he has access to the wash bays but it might be different for those who aren't at a terminal as often.

Wicked classy. I wonder what sort of issues a person must have to even say stuff like that in a public post. Some people need to grow up.

Disclaimer: I don't have my license yet so I may lack experience but I do know a lot of truckers and have doone a lot of researc h. Trainning takes an incredible amount of time energy and grit. You won't be able to have your daughter with you wgile training. And as an otr driver you won't have much time or energy left for homeschooling after you get done driving. especially not during the first year. I wouldn't worry about safety at truck stops or recievers but there will be many other obsticles. I would suggest that since you already care for one disabled person, look into caring for mentally or physically disabled people for the state. I have a friend who does that and it makes ok money and you could care for your daughter at the same time. You may beable to have live-in persons or take care of them in their own home. but given your situation it may be a good option. You may need some sort of license or training but you can contact your state about that.

Hey Starcar, I would love it if you would elaborate on training with your husband a little. I was hoping that once I get my license I could train with my boyfriend, but of course I do have my reservations, so I'm curious how that went for you.

So....can we get some updates Ladies in trucking????
I've been trying to figure out a plan to get my license for almost a year now. I'm now planning to go to a local school but I don't currently have the money. its so expensive. So for now I'm studying on my own and Im taking the permit test on Tuesday! Wish me luck! Hopefully I will be in school by January. After that my bf would really like to team. I think its not a bad idea.
