Satellite TV In Your Truck?

double-quotes-start.png

Does anyone have any experience with having cable/satellite TV in there trucks? My homework keeps turning up Winegard Satellites. Just wanted to know how well it works.

theres a big trucking company that boosts sat tv service in all their trucks.. thought it was swift

\

I am willing to be my paycheck its not Swift. But I have heard there is a OTR company that has DirecTV in every truck with NFL Sunday Ticket. I was just checking cause the prices don't sound bad. Prime said they wouldn't mind the receiver being installed as long as I don't damage the truck.

Sleeping in Truck

You get used to is pretty quick. Most sleepers have pretty good insulation. My truck has an APU and a reefer that's usually on continuous run. After a couple nights the vibration from the engine kinda rocks you to sleep. I do like to avoid parking next to older reefers as some of them sound like tree chippers.

REfresher training

Most CDL schools offer refresher course. I recommend googling local CDL schools.

Leaving today for Pittston - Worried about double clutching

You will be fine. FYI. The evaluation in Pittston is done on the simulator not on an actual truck. They give you a practice run and even if you bomb they let you go again the next day.

And if it means anything, most TNT trainers teach floating. I was worried about double clutching as well. Once on the road my trainer showed me floating........ I haven't double clutched since my first day on the road and I'm at 29,000 miles in TNT

Best of Luck

Backing-up Anxiety

Just about all the vets on this site will tell you that backing takes time. My trainer has been driving for 30 years and he still has bad days here and there.

The best advice I've been given is take your time and be patient it's not a race. Regardless of how many times you have to pull up and start over as long as you don't hit anything or anyone you did it right.

3 Month Med card, Supposed to start with swift in 2 days.

I currently work for Prime and I am off truck until I have my sleep study (Tuesday). Companies have become very cautious about drivers with sleep apnea due to the fact you don't get a full night of sleep and are going to be driving 80,000 pounds for up to 11 hours.

If you test positive for the sleep apnea most the time they just make you use a CPAP machine which records your use on an SD card. Everyone who I know who has one says they sleep so much better
