You might look into those three (I'm looking for something to make some money for now, so figured I'd go ahead and click while I was in there). A lot of the steel places and machine shops need people who can deliver to their customers, but you might be doing something else primarily.

Urination Station doesn't do much good for Number 2! I figure I'll end up with something like this, where I can just line it and chunk the bags:

Does learning to shift gears in a truck result in the same kind of whiplash that learning to shift gears in little Mazda does?

I think the reason people are willing to speed so much more out here is because you can generally see for miles if you're outside of the city.

My husband said he always knows once we're in west Texas by the idiots who actually pass HIM...'cause he's normally going at least 10 over the speed limit (but that's not being an idiot).
When I was stuck in rush hour traffic in San Antonio with my brother, he told me that the best place to be was behind an 18-wheeler. Nobody likes to be right behind them, so you don't get cut off as often, and you're guaranteed to be able to stop faster than they can. Only thing is, you can't see very far up ahead when you're behind them.
Then again, I've also been dumb enough to drive to Austin in the pouring rain at night right behind a box truck going 80 on the nice windy roads.

Do you have all your endorsements?

If one of those companies was Eagle1, the problem isn't just with the drivers.
A lot of the reason for turnover in oilfield is that someone else pays better or offers better hours. There's not much loyalty to the trucking companies out here, and if somebody offers a job where you might not make as much but get more time worth the family, a lot of people jump ship quickly. Go on Craigslist, apply for everything related to trucking.

I've had pickup trucks in front of me drop plywood and sheet metal while i was in a Crow Vic aND a minivan. There's a reason I don't follow too closely AND pay attention to what's around me. I was able to miss the sheet metal by swerving. If I had tried to miss the plywood, I would probably have killed everybody in my car by hitting either the divider or the truck next to me.

Just registered!!
My husband told me that no matter when or how I tell my mom, she won't be happy if I start driving a truck, much less going OTR.
Good luck!
