Type 1 Diabetes and DOT medical waivers
It is very time consuming! Your husband will have to be really determined and dedicated to the process. The FMCSA is currently considering changing the Endocrinologist review period from every 3 months to annually.

Type 1 Diabetes and DOT medical waivers
I am Type II and am currently waiting to get my medical waiver. I have only completed 1 week of class for my CDL A. I have a Class B already with an interstate only restriction and a Class A permit. It took me almost 2 months just to complete pall the medical tests and doctors appointments to submit the application. I am still waiting to just get on the 30-day list. Once on the list, I will have to wait 30 days before I will receive the waiver. I submitted my medical waiver paperwork to the Feds on October 5th. Once I get the waiver, I will have to see an endocrinologist every 3 months to keep the waiver. Hope that gives you a current picture of the waiver process.

You only need to do the section(s) that you failed.

Yes, your temporary use will have a bearing on the DOT physical. You will need to list it as a drug taken in the last year. Make sure you go to the physical with a note from your doctor stating you are no longer taking the insulin and controlling your diabetes with diet and oral medication.
I am currently going through the long nightmare of a waiver myself.

There will be no resolution to the drivers' problems without some sort of unification. Brett is correct in saying that complaining won't correct anything. It seems that if we could find the right kind of unification that only carries out what we all fundamentally want, then we could have some truly astonishing change.

Good idea to take the car if you have someone to get it. Don't be shocked if you find LOTS of new best friends though. LOL.

Do you really believe that the union encouraged individuals to shoot people? Or could there be that occasional lunatic (that show up rarely at places like schools, malls, offices, etc), that just happens to be a union member on strike?

From Driving School Bus to an 18 Wheeler
Go for it!!! I was a city transit bus driver for 6 years. Can't wait to add a Class A and all it's endorsements. I am looking forward to going from driving around in circles for 10 hours all day to hitting the open road.
