1st month back out with Prime

dancing.gif Glad you are doing well Sir.dancing-dog.gif

Ok, time for an update.

I left out from home on the 6th of Feb and went to the main Prime terminal in Springfield MO. I arrived after a 2 day road trip on Sunday the 7th.

Just like most everyone that goes to the Prime orientation, I stayed at the Campus Inn (Prime's resident hotel in Springfield MO). Since I was a returning driver (I left 2 years ago) and going back into their Lease program, my orientation was slightly different than someone just starting out.

My first load out of Springfield took me South to Little Rock AR. During orientation Prime made a point to tell everyone that they usually will not send solo drivers out to CA, but my next load was out of Batesville AR to Fresno CA. Then I was dispatched on a load out of Bakerfield CA (a produce load) that took all day to get the load legal (I was loaded 3 diffent times that day just to get the weights right on all axles) going to St Louis MO.

Out of St Louis I took a load to Lubbock TX. After that load I was asked to repower a load (that is Primes way of relaying loads) going from Amarillo TX that I meet up with the driver at the TA going to Las Vegas NV. From there I went to Salt Lake City.

My next load was from Hyrum NV (a little NE of Ogden) to Harrisburg PA. From there I went to just south of Lexington KY. Then I went to Middleboro KY to a Smithfield foods facility (I felt like I was having to do my driving test all over again going through town) and brought it to Newport News VA.

I just got home yesterday after being gone for 5 weeks. Having a great time being out on the road again after being stuck mostly on the East coast for the last 2 years.

Question about Swift and permit

I passed about two weeks ago but had issues proving my residency. There are new laws in New Mexico that have made it harder to get ID because they were giving them to illegal immigrants. Anyways I got my permit today but it can take quite a while to get it. I am aware of classes starting every Monday. I am hoping I can go on the 21st but I may not have the physical permit by then. Hopefully it won't take to long.

Good luck man hope you get it soon, hey things might be different where you are so confirm with your recruiter as soon as you can..........again good luck might see you out there someday

Question about Swift and permit

Tried to ask my recruiter but she wasn't in the office so I wondering if any of you guys would know. I got my permit today finally, after getting proof of residency squared away. I live in a rural area so they mail the physical id to us. I was wondering if the temporary paper CDL permit would be good enough to use at the academy or will I need the physical one? Thanks guys I appreciate it!

This may be a dumb question but your whole class failed a hair follicle test? Holy moly! How far did they go back? I have been told hair is 90 days but can go back as far as a year. I don't mean to be an a$$, just shocked all failed.

Lol. No, they didn't all fail. They're all on their way out to drive. That would be amazing if the whole class failed.

rofl-2.gifrofl-3.gif ok I understand now
