Explain it like that....Tell me the truth & as long as it checks out should be no problem. Hell they hire guys with a record.
Thanks for the advice. I planned on doing exactly that.

Hello everyone, I've been reading through Truckingtruth.com for about 2-3 months now. As I've done my research and plan accordingly for a potential career in trucking(going for my CDL in November at a private school thanks to the GI Bill) I have a possible hiccup with my background. First let me say that I have a clean record, no tickets ever(parking or speeding), no misdemeanors or felony's. The problem comes when they look for a stable work history. I'm 29yrs old spent 7yrs Active Duty Army (3yrs Active Guard Reserves) and 4 yrs in the National Guard(Sill serving). I've always had a job, except from Jan 2013-Jun 2014 where I was in County Jail for 17 months. To explain this in the easiest way, my ex wife got ****ed that I was awarded custody of my Son and made some outrageous accusations with out proof (hear say is admissible here in my state) and after 17 months waiting for trial all charges where dropped and case was dismissed.
As I stated above, I have a clean criminal and driving record, but do have 17 months of "unaccounted time". To make that time worse, when I got out of jail I spent the next 12 months going to school (using the GI Bill to live off of) so I have almost 2 1/2yrs of unemployed time. Will any of this keep me from getting hired from a company? I appreciate any and all advice.

Possible Background Hiccup...
My Attorney won't sue her until I pay him back the 15k I owe him in legal fee's. He won't do a sue and than get paid deal because she doesn't own anything of value.
