Help with a tough location

I've done two of these "street unloads" in the past week. Both were for contractors. One was in downtown Portland, OR and the other was just off the strip in Las Vegas.

Biggest mileage week so far!

I thought that truck was a HOW truck. HOW recruited at the CDL school I went to. Almost went with them but ended up at Schneider.

Have been fascinated by Mr. H. O. Wolding. I think he was 111 years old last October. Is he still going?

Mr. Wolding passed away last November (2023).

Retired Trucker Looking for Advice

In this hard economy, I wouldn't stop after three, seven, or a dozen "NOs".

Just a funny trucking picture to brighten your day

Extreme inattention would be my guess? Why that pole never bent over, I'll never know, but I do know that's an actual photograph. Perhaps the downhill angle (towards the nose) is lower than the elevation at the tail? That's the only speculative answer I can think of.

Advanced backing training during month 4 of TNT?

This is a good example of why a driver should G.O.A.L. Those stantions, poles, boulders, walls, and bollards are hard to see, especially after dark.

Dart Transportation????

Houndog here I've went through darts lease purchase program. And like any company worked my tail off. Paid my truck off in five years now own it drove it another five years. Took a few years off driving pulled the engine and tranny out put a new one in. Back in business. Some people need to grow up. If you are not willing to put your hands up, don't pick a fight.

I would like to know if Anybody here could tell me if Dart Transportation is a descent starter company to drive for. I notice online that their big on Lease deals, but what about company drivers???

Trailer tires locking up during turn?

My two guesses for the cause are 1) There was an air pocket in the brake system, or 2) There was a problem with the air proportioning valve on the trailer. It was not a safety sensor on the tractor.

My upcoming adventure

Glad to read you were invited back on the concert tour. Also great to read you were upgraded from a Volvo.

Trailer tires locking up during turn?

How long had you been driving at speed prior to the intersection slow down, stop, and getting back up to speed?

How long had you been pulling this particular trailer?

Was it loaded or empty?

How to Use PAPS & PARS ?

Those terms are the cross border customs stuff. It use to be stickers and a pain. It has all gone digital several years ago.

I’m not sure what the question is.

Exactly. I remember using these with Roehl. I sat at one border crossing going into Canada for 11 hours, only waiting for one group of numbers! Needed three sets of numbers, and I had two out of three. Got bounced around on the phone for hours. "Call the broker. Call the shipper. Call the company. Call the customer...." OMG. Does anybody know anything useful? I don't care if I never cross another border as a truck driver.
