10 things I've learned in 4 years of trucking...
Or in my case, what if a mannequin falls out of a pick up, and you think its a body, and you have a tanker on one side and a school bus on the other, and no choice but to maintain your lane?
I'm sure it wasn't funny at the time, but you just made me spit my coffee and laugh until I had tears in my eyes.
Thanks for these tips! Great stuff.

I'm gunning for flatbed. I want to stay in shape, solve securement challenges, laugh at the wind, smile in the rain, freeze in the snow, and deliver heavy equipment to remote locales from time-to-time.

Just received my greyhound ticket!
Yay!!! I'm looking forward to having a study partner/meals friend.
I'll email what I got to you. The only thing that won't be relevant to you is the travel info. You'll have to confirm that with them.
Super. Thanks so much.

Hi Miss Miyoshi,
Looks like I will be seeing you at Prime. I start March 7th as well.
Just curious: Has your recruiter sent you an information packet of any kind yet? What to bring, paperwork to have in order, that sort of thing? I haven't seen anything in the inbox or mailbox, and I got my approval for Orientation about 2 weeks ago or so.
Excited!

Heading to Prime Orientation, March 7th, 2016!
Thanks for the advice, Brian. I'd probably be happy in any division. But flatbed drivers like Old School have inspired me to give it a go.
The extra challenge involved in securement is actually a plus in my decision. I like the challenge of figuring things out. I also like the more varied locations that flatbed gets to deliver to. And I like the physical demands. Gives me another reason to stay in shape.
All that said, I might change my mind once I get further along. I mean, I have zero experience, so I won't really know my preferences until I try.
I'll keep everyone here posted as I progress. Might even do a vlog on YouTube after I'm hired and go solo.

Self employed for 5 years...is this gonna be a problem?
It wasn't a problem for me. I'm headed for Prime on the 7th of March.
My recruiter asked for just 3 years of tax returns showing my name and the DBA I used; Form 1040 sufficed.
On the Prime Orientation packet, they say 3 years of verifiable job history in one place, and 5 years on a different page. My recruiter said my tax forms I used for her would be fine, but maybe have a couple phone numbers of previous clients going back 5 years (I was a web designer).
Because I'm paranoid, I went ahead and tracked down one client from 10 years ago, one from 4 years ago, and one from last year, and had them all write and NOTARIZE letters of recommendation / job verification. All of their websites I built are still online, too, so I should be cool.
In your case, as an eBay seller, something from your tax returns and maybe some invoices from sales should suffice.
Good luck.
