I keep hearing how backing up is one of the hardest things for new truck drivers to learn and I agree to an extent but backing up straight I learned pretty quickly the school I went to never taught me how to back up on an angle however when I took my road test the first time I didnt turn wide enough and my back tire rollled a curb and I automatically failed I retook my test and passed the second tine but still made quite a few mistakes. I know the training I had was very minimal and will need alot more training with any company that will take me on but I still worry about turning that big trailer properly

What I meant was I am on medication for my Blood pressure but when I went for a checkup it was a little high 140 over 100 the doctor wasnt too concerned and asked If I have been stressing lately which I have and he said I should cut back on my sodium level too. I will be sure to get my pressure under control before I do anything because I know I wont pass a physical if its high

Yea I was planning on taking a refresher course anyway my only worry now is taking a physical because I have blood pressure issues its not that high but high enough to be an issue for a physical but that might be due to my stress level over the accident. I also have a ford escpe I leased that has another year and I hate the idea of keeping it in my driveway for weeks or months at a tine while paying on it plus the insurance I feel like its wasted money altjough I assume after the taining process I will be home every few weeks

Ok this isnt really a trucking question although it is in a way, I sideswiped a car exactly two weeks ago today while I was driving a box truck the car was parked and we had no idea who the car belonged to my boss came to the scene and we were there over an hour and he decided to leave a note on the windshield with his contact information. I was let go and told we might have to keep in touch because I might have to fill out an accidenf report well its been two weeks and havent heard anything so Im hoping the accident wasnt reported. Wouldnt I have heard something by now?? And since I think worst case scenario how would it affect me for getting a job since I do have a class A license but no experience

About a week ago I mentioned how I was driving a box truck in Brooklynn and sideswiped a car I am very upset by this because I worked so hard to keep a clean license my boss fired me and I cant blame him but he said to me we probably have to keep in touch becausd I probably will have to fill out an accident report this happened last thursday which was about 10 days aago and I havent heard anything from him keep in mind the cops were not called it was a parked car and the owner came down and said to leave a note on the windshield with the conpany name and ohone numbet looking back on it I technically left the scene of an accident and am wondering what is coming my way I am hoping that the owner of tbe company spoke to the owner of the car and convinced him to not go through the insurance company and instead just pay for the car to be fixed but I doubt that will happen in the meantime i am freaking out about getting a truck driving job because they do ask about accidents and tickets I havent had a ticket in 7 years but this accident could **** me up I dont even know what to say to them because If I say no and they find it a few weeks or months later I will be fired but If I tell them about it and for sone reason it never gets reported then I still admitted to having an accident which could affect my chance of gettting hired I wanna beleive I would have heard something by now but the uncertaintly is killng me

Ok I get it.I am freaking out personally I have no problem getting on a stairmaster or treadmill I can walk 4 or 5 miles a day with no problem hell I love excercise and even worry about getting to excercise while Im on the road but my issue is I have high blood pressure and I worry about them checking my blood pressure not just for the physical but during the agility test of all the recruiters I spoke to not one mentioned anything about an agility test maybe Im worrying more then I should I just think its a bit ridiculous to expect a truck driver to sit and drive 11 hours a day and still be in shape when your always sitting how much time do you have to excercise and stay in shape how often xan you go to a gym even if you had time to go to a gym when are you bear a gym to go there

Is this agility test a requirement everytime you take a physical or is it just a one time thing? I am 43 years old and was hoping I could still drive tractor trailers into my mid 60's but I also wonder with all these requirements If I would be able to pass a physical at that age I'm even worried about passing it now

But I alreasy have my CDL I just need a job plus I have to renew my medical so now I am stressing even more I am in decent shape I went to the gym 4or 5 days a week up until about 4 months ago and did quite a bit of cardio but I did notice my heartrate sometimes gets high but I have no problem exercising but I worry my heartrate could spike during these activities plus I have balance issues due to a surgery when I was younger so walking a beam could be an issue too I dont understand how they expect you to dtive a truck for 11 hours a day and yet have such strict guidelines for fitness how can you dtive so many hours and still find time to workout and stay fit I see some truck drivers that are huge and look very outts shape so how the hell do they pass all these tests

An agility test I never heard of that so now I have something else to worry about I heard Schneider sends you to a doctor before you go to orientation so then you already know before you go to orientaton that you pass the physical so maybe i will call them I hate to go all the way out to PA or elsewhere then fail a physical and have to come back home

Turning
Thanks guys I always watch a truck turn every chance I get as for not allowing cars to try and swing in on you I was taught to stay in the right lane to avoid that but tgen I watch alotta truckers use that extra space for tge turn I worry about turning on those narrow streers that leave veey little room for trucks to navigate
