Fuel card

Your first pay check or possibly even 2 may go on the comdata card until your direct deposit kicks in. They basically work just like atm/debit cards.

Swift will apparently reimburse you for showers and or parking if you don't abuse it. I've never submitted a shower receipt because I just found out about it. But they have reimbursed me for parking. I scan them with my bills with the trip, truck and driver number written on them. I Learned about it through a couple of fellow terminal rats. LOL!

New Handle...And a Game.

Oooops I meant to say I've done three since the first of the year. We still have almost 4 months to go. LOL

New Handle...And a Game.

I'd like to personally thank my buddy Old School for the inspiration. LOL

I'd been trying to think of a new handle that was more trucking related but was kind of stumped. This is perfect, although a bit ironic. I pretty much hate going to the terminal. You ever notice how nothing good ever really happens there? LOL

First off, they're full of trucks and or truckers and we're all there for the same reasons.. You're either going in for maintenance or repair or waiting on a load. Either that or your DM has you scheduled for some goofy arsed simulator or safety training. LOL

OK this is mostly satirical but I'd be interested in reading some of your favorite and or least favorite reasons for going to the terminal.

BTW, my other choice was "Beer Bellied Desert Dweller " but I thought that was too busy. LOL!

He may also have you use your loyalty / points cards a few times as you get close to upgrading. This is so you'll have a small bank of shower credits and whatnot when you go solo.

HOS violation question

I have only been over 1 time on my 14 clock by about 30 minutes. There simply weren't any spots available in the three different truck stops I checked before my hours ran out. Heck, I couldn't even make a spot and I'm not afraid to get creative. LOL

I don't know about law enforcement but I never heard anything from Swift about it and it's been a couple of weeks now. LOL!

Samsung Galaxy Note8 and Galaxy S8+: Good for truck drivers or not?

I have the S5 with Straight Talk through Walmart and have no real complaints about either.

Went through Cabbage and didn't know it.

I've been through there several times and the last time was in the winter. Plenty of slower drivers than me but I was in no hurry to pass any of them in the left lane. LOL!

They actually closed it shortly after I went through and virtually all of the truck stops west of there were filled way beyond capacity. I was headed to Troutdale and a seriously severe freezing rain storm came through the same night. The whole area was blanketed in 1/2 to 3/4 inch ice.

The parking lot was one giant ice rink and there were penguin walking truck drivers everywhere. LOL!

Swift dry van vs. reefer

I was really hoping they'd run me around the mid west for a while before winter gets here. Nope, pick up a load this afternoon and I'm headed for Louisiana. LOL!
