The Corn Is As High As An Elephant's Eye

Was a NASCAR fan 'till FOX Sports started turning it into a cartoon. Found out me and Smoke attended the same grade school in Columbus IN. so thats who I rooted for. Then everyone started getting in trouble for not smiling and having real human emotions. Now, college football takes up my time. BOOMER SOONER!

Brian M. and Old School, I hope I get trainers like youse two. You both seem to have the patience and understanding a person will need when getting behind the wheel of a multi-ton behemoth for the first time.

Whaddya think?.....

Anybody out there have an opinion about Roadmaster trucking school? There is a facility here in Tulsa and just wondering if they are any good or if it's something I should steer clear of. Really don't want to talk to anyone there till I've talked to people who know (graduates, maybe former instructors, etc...) what to expect or if I'm better off with company training.

Could it be time to become a truck driver?.......

Thanks for the welcome and a boost to the old confidence. I was worried about the age thing but sounds like thats not an issue. Good to know as I go forward. Again thanks and look forward to reading more on this forum.

I did enjoy Tom Terrific when I was a kid and his dog The Mighty Mannfred.

Thanks Brett. I am reading the "Raw Truth" book. Started at 11 this morning and in between the phone calls I get and lunch, I'm on page 51. Valuable insight, good stuff to know. Just hope I won't be considered too old.

Could it be time to become a truck driver?.......

Sorry should have said I currently do not have a CDL but am interested in getting one and starting a new career. Where I'm at now is 12volt vehicle electrionics and the owners son just wants to give all jobs to his bestie and starve those of us who built this business. But, what can the owner do? Fire is own son? No win situation here.

Been with same company over 25 years and believe its about time to move on. Guy who owns the place is handing over things to his son who doesn't like me for whatever reason. Anyway looking for all advice on how to get started in the business. I'm 54 years old but I'm ready and able for anything. Would very much appreciate any and all advise. If I stay where I'm at, I'll be dead within 5 years. The stress is not worth the work (or lack of) under new regime. Thanks.
