Wanting to make the jump but won't..
I was looking at Millis Transfer. It would be OTR but I'm ok with it. Not thrilled but experience is experience. I know they pay really well right off the bat. And where I live the said I might get more home time just because I would pass my area a lot with loads. I looked at other places and I just feel Millis is a good one. And even then I know after 18 months they reimburse you all but the 500 I believe at least that's what the recruiter said.

Wanting to make the jump but won't..
I posted a month or so ago about poor recruiters. Well, I decided to call back and actually got a recruiter that, not only answered my questions but also made it hard not to be like when do I start. As it currently stands, I am getting married in July. Definitely cannot make the jump because of that commitment and honeymoon is already paid for. However, my current situation is probably like some, but I currently work for a steel shop on 4 days a week. Money is super tight and trying to plan for going to school is one of the hardest things to budget. The company I have been researching and looking into has a deposit of 500 total and is 3 weeks long and then you begin your on the road training. I could have posted this in the wrong section and I apologize. How much money should one bring to sustain himself for that long? I understand bills need covered, but my fiancé is a teacher and makes decent money since she is in a bigger school district. She does support me getting me getting my CDL mainly to have something I can fall back on if the shop gets any worse, which is possible. But back to my question, what is a safe amount to take for the 4-5 weeks without pay?

So I have been scoping this site for about 2 months now. Read a lot about companies and what to possibly expect on the road, etc. However, I am a factory worker who has been hit hard by the economy lately and have been looking at doing what I thought would be cool...driving truck. Any ways, I did some search on a company that has a terminal in my state and a school in my state and called to discuss things with the recruiter. Little to no help. Didn't seem too thrilled about the company. Could have been an off day, I don't know. Should that be a concern? She answered my questions and also killed my hopes of being a regional driver, which would be ideal since I'm getting married in a couple months lol. But, back to my question...are there poor recruiters out there?

Should I Wait?
So I have posted awhile ago about what to expect during training. However, as I begin to realize getting into a truck is getting closer and probably smarter, I am unsure of a couple things. Do I want to drive truck. Yes, ever since I was small. Matter of fact Marmons were my favorite trucks next to Kenworth and Petes. But what I'm concerned about is I am getting married next month. Honeymoon already paid as a gift, date set etc, and in November I'm going up for ordination as a minister and ordination service in Feb. Both are huge events in my life. Should I wait to pursue the training until after the wedding and try to get my dispatcher to get me home before the ordination events? What's all of your opinions?
