Trucking nightmares?

Most people have trucking dreams, especially in the beginning when you're new and so much is on your mind all the time.

The funniest thing I saw regarding that was a driver who nosed into a parking spot when he was obviously exhausted because he fell asleep with his head on the steering wheel and his truck idling. When he woke up and saw the back end of a trailer two feet from the nose of his truck he thought he had fallen asleep at the wheel and was about to plow into another truck.

He grabbed the steering wheel and starting sawing on it, grabbed the shifter and started slamming it around causing the gears to grind like crazy, and started pumping the brake hard and fast. Those gears were grinding, the air brakes were hissing, and the whole cab of the truck was rocking because he was jamming on everything in such a panic. After about 5 seconds of that he realized nothing was happening and stopped. He was sitting there silent and still, utterly baffled for a moment.

Then this guy slowly turned toward his head in my direction where myself and the driver parked next to me happened to be watching the whole thing. This guy's hair was sticking out wildly in all directions, his eyes were as wide as dinner plates, and his mouth was hanging wide open. He looked like a zombie and had no idea what was happening.

I'm telling ya, the other driver that had witnessed it and I were laughing so hard I thought we were going to need an ambulance. We were just dying. The tears were flowing, I had stomach cramps, and I couldn't breathe! It was utterly hysterical. To this very moment I die laughing every time I think about it. I'm pretty sure that dude needing counseling after that episode. One of the funniest things I ever saw!
