Boredom on the Road

Just be sure to put some mini bungies to hold the top on...nothing like roast beef juice to warm your feet up embarrassed.gif

Sirius XM while rolling. TV, computer, talking to the kids and sleep when parked. That is pretty much my routine. Oh, and I torture myself by cooking some deliciousness in the crock pot while rolling too. Wanting to be alive long enough to eat that is a good motivator for staying awake.

Mmm... I never thought I could be cooking a delicious meal in my crock pot while rolling! That's awesome! And eating is def one of my top 5 things to be doing!

Oh yeah, it is a great motivator to know you will be eating what you have been smelling... When you park it for the night. Makes those truck stops seem a whole lot less desirable and keeps that left door closed with the wheels turning.

Thinking about trucking but have qustions

Whatever company you decide to go with I'd suggest that you co-drive your first few months

Kyle,...smooth shifting is not easy to learn. However the instructors are experienced teaching people how-to do it. Try not to worry about it,...it's all in the learning process.

I work for Swift, trained with them and stayed with them. I am into my fourth year and have no intention of looking elsewhere at his point. Schneider is also a good company. There are many good companies...review this link for specifics (alphabetical order)

Looks like he's having too much fun to have time to post! ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜† On another note, I'm going to be done with my lead driver by the 31st and still no luck finding a "sane" co-driver. Point me in the right direction and I'd appreciate it.....BTW I'm with "CURST" as wellโ˜๐Ÿฝ๏ธ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

Now the fun begins... Keep us updated on your time with your trainer.

Chuckdriver looking for a co-driver

I'll be looking for a co-driver by August 20th. Otherwise, did Craigslist help?

What is a chuckdriver? Is that a driver who hauls ground chuck? Or woodchucks? Perhaps a driver named Chuck?

In all seriousness though, is there a reason you can't team with your husband? If you have children to take care of or a career you're already highly invested in that's understandable; I only ask because many people don't consider it.

As for finding a codriver, keep trying Craigslist and add pictures to your ads to make them more enticing (even public domain stock photos are fine). Make sure your ad is well written and spaced out (not one big block paragraph). Other than that, perhaps try posting paper ads in truck stops in your hometown. A staffing agency will probably be able to help you but they'll want to be paid for their services and there's usually no guarantee they'll find someone.
