Anyone doing Prime Walmart dedicated?
@rainy: My home base is in south carolina so southeast regional would be a great fit! Thanks for the info! @jonathan: thanks for the insight, Im not terrible at backing, wouldnt say Im pro, but Ive done a few tight blind backs with mild frusteration lol, I like the Idea of knowing my routes down pat and I know that dedicated and regional will offer that. Quick question, feel free to chime in, but Im currently with a L/O FM, at what part of the ugrade process will I be assigned my company FM to discuss all this? And I want to request an international lw but again...Im with a lease trainer and lease fm and they dont have many answers for me....I have about 9k miles to go and been running 5k+ miles/week, so this is all coming up soon and Im the type of person who likes the information, before I need the information! Again thanks for all the helpful responses, I am very grateful to be here on TT!

TNT with Prime mean trainer need advice
Dear stew, I had the same problem my first couple of weeks with my trainer...I called my FM to notify him of the situation, but told him if things didnt change, I would want to be transferred to another truck. I have a bad temper after so many times of pressing my buttons (especially when Im doing my best to listen and hear what is being told to me, and being yelled at and criticized for small things.) I remember the very day my trainer was getting ****ed because he was getting crappy loads and taking it out on me, I finally snapped, and reminded him that if he didn't quit yelling at me I was going to hop off the truck right in the middle of traffic, and that he could enjoy starting over with a brand new PSD. Boy let me tell ya, after I threw that at him, he has been on his best behavior and started speaking to me like a student, and not like some dumb slave to his lease/op needs...but If you cant resolve it with him personally, it would definitely be wise to notify HR or your FM! Good luck bud, I hope it gets better for ya out there. Be Safe!!

Anyone doing Prime Walmart dedicated?
Hello, I am almost done with TnT and would like to know if anyone here is doing the Walmart Dedicated runs for prime and offer any advice or insight. Will they allow someone fresh out of TnT do the routes? I read a bit about it on forums but it seemed like alot of he "said/she said...everybody else says" and would like to hear from someone in Prime, doing the runs currently. Thanks!

Thanks bud! Prime's training is very fast paced, my best advice is to get as much rest as you can during training. It helps you stay calm and collective when you have a ton of information thrown at lightning speed! I know some days I was completely overwhelmed, tired, hungry, and pushed hard! That's how trucking is though! The OTR PSD training makes your first week at Prime seem like kindergarten (but before you get to that phase, youll be thinking week 1 at the campus is really intense, because it is!) Everyone is really supportive and helpful here. Talking to drivers will help you learn all sorts of info! Also, Study, study, study that cdl prep stuff, if you know it before you get here it will make your stay alot less demanding! On youtube there is a channel called: Prime Driver Jacob, who runs through your pretrip stuff and will have you ahead of the game when it comes time to go out with your trainer. Expect a little scolding from your trainer at first, but know once you pick it up, theyll be someone who you can always turn to for advice and knowledge, but they do go hard on you at first (you might even be treated as if your supposed to know the answers to questions your asking them lol) but be patient, listen to them without emotional attachment to words, and youll sail right through to the good ole open road....or clusterfudged citys, but good luck on choosing a company, I can tell ya that Prime is definitely a safe bet for a great experience!

Ahh, it seems like yesterday I was in my PSD classes getting white badged, eagerly awaiting friday to get clearance to go to the millenium building and enjoying Northstar Grille! I've become very friendly with the staff, but this article is going to surpass all that intro stuff, because tomorrow, is the big day....Testing! Its what I came for, all the hardships, all the obsticles, all the dedication. I learned alot while on the road with my trainer. He pushed me and tested my pressure level hard and made sure I know my stuff...If you cant take a little yelling every now and then, you wont make it, but after you prove yourself to these "trainer folk" they really grow on you and become a source of encouragement and insight! Poor guy has been busting his butt to get less runs so he can bring me into the big leagues and I appreciate everything hes done for me and the sacrifices hes made to be a trainer (I'll never have that kind of patience) He showed me how to Pre-trip, show me how to shift, showed me how to climb mountains and slope grades like a champ. Today we are reviewing my 2nd practice of my road test (which is intense and netve racking, but I'm going to get through it) My goal is to nail that trifecta as proof that Prime Inc.'s training is the best experience Ive had of learning in my entire life (and slso to help this trainer of mine get some sickkkk new graphics) But yes, to all of you out there who have helped encourage me, and shown me the way, I cant thank you enough, and I look forward to posting my results tommorrow, and hey, if I dont pass tomorrow, Ill keep going until I do. Keep your heads up and ears open guys, youll learn something new everyday, if you ever stop learning, you might as well hang your keys up and turn your truck in THAT DAY!!!! Stay safe out there! And good luck to anyone else whos about to put your skills to the test!

Prime is an excellent company for a rookie! I would definitely give them a thumbs up their training program is one of the best out there. I am currently finishing up my TnT phase and have had alot of obstacles, but it has been a very rewarding experience to say the least! Good luck bud!
