Profile For Midnight rider

So I just got my first year of driving down and looking to make a change. I have an offer as a Regional OTE driver for USF Holland out of Sikeston Missouri and also an offer from Transland out of Strafford Missouri. Anyone know about the 2 companies and anything I should know?

I did the Dollar General account with Hogan for 2 weeks. Bro I'm gonna shoot you straight. It sucks. The pay is pretty good, but at what costime? Physically I'm not in bad shape. 4 year military veteran. I went in with 8 months driving for USX teaming with my dad. Hopped over to hogan to try and earn more and be home more often. However, I soon began to realize how incredibly BAD the trailers are loaded. You'll have your rolltainers that can way up to 1500lbs. Not bad. But it's the crap they launch on top that makes it a pain in the you know what. Heavy stuff too. Usually the only way to get it down is to pull the rolltainer out and let it fall. No lights in the trailers makes it reeeeaaaal fun (and in my opinion, incredibly unsafe). I got to my last store at dark and a case of soda hit my in the head and knocked me flat on my @$$. And the toppers most of the time they just toss on top even past the cardboard or plastic (which tells you you've reached the next stores rolltainers) and you have to climb on top to get the stores loose boxes. Once I found a stores toppers 3 rolltainer rows back.

I enjoyed the physical aspect of it (to an extent) bevause it was keeping me in shape. However the organizational stupidity of it all just wasn't worth the little pay bump to me. More power to you if you stick it out
