Flatbed question

If you want to start with flatbed, I would reccomend going with Melton and I have heard of ATS paying pretty good too. I know that from talking to people working here and then from reviews online and my own experience so far, they are a really great company. Im not sure how much experience you have, but when I came here, I had 10 months and I started out with $0.53 a mile. If you have a year or more they were but I hear they raised their pay rates but it was like $0.64 a mile.

Melton Truck Lines and experiences

Hey Gtown! So its been 3 weeks and its going to be another week before I get possibly released from light duty after my shoulder injury. They want to do a mri and today because there was two gentlmen both Airforce veterans needing to go to Cincinnati, Ohio I had to reschedule. Now its on the 29th at 745 8am. I have been recovering truck from garages and dealerships. Thats about all. Been in many hotels. I spent a night in a Park Inn built in the 1970s as a luxury hotel. I had a jacuzzi and man it was different and nice. How are you all?

How’s it going Victor.

Flatbed Securement Discussion 2022

Definitely have to get used to it thats for sure. Gotta take it slow.

It is pretty hard. Technical. It appeals to me. Very physically demanding. Hope I can keep up as I like it

Yep, I love following this thread, even though I'll never be a flatbedder. Very educational.

Than you everyone- from a new flatbedder

I have to say thank you to those people too because they have been a real sturdy foundation and support to lean on when it comes to it. I have grown since coming to my current company and learning to stick with it even when the going gets tough, sticking with it is what makes a better man! Thanks yall.

Hey everyone, I have been lurking and absorbing a **** ton of knowledge from many in here since December when I started my journey. Today I outfitted my Swift Kenworth with chains ,straps and all the other flatbedding trinkets. First load this past weekend was a dry van from Chicago back here to Greer SC, so I could get loaded out. Gonna head home for a couple of days, then roll out with my skateboard. Pack rat, old school, Davy A, two sides, Brett, and the other swift guy out ofJohnstown (drawing a blank on his name- sorry)are just a few off the top of my head at the moment that I wanted to say thanks especially because good or bad you guys throw it out there as is.

Let's hear it - what do you guys think about the Canadian Truckers?

HEAR HEAR! Time to stop pandering like we havebeen taught by the garbage education they teach but nothing about success and happiness in the real world.

"Protest peacefully and keep the goods moving don’t be like BLM or antifa and block roads and trample on other’s Constitutional rights."

And for Goodness' sake, DON'T throw any tea in the water.

Unfortunately, NOT doing anything that would be construed as trampling on others' rights is how we've gotten into this predicament. I'm not advocating violence, but how much of a beat-down are the citizens supposed to take? Even here in The U.S.A. we're supposed to be a Representative Republic. But what to do when the representatives no longer represent the governed? Look at how the government protects itself, but allows rampant crimes against the citizens. E.g. protecting The Capitol vs. the Southern Boarder.

Blockading may not be the best answer. Heck, it may not even be the right answer. But, notice the dictates that are coming down? The governments (in Canada and U.S.A) are not even negotiating with opposing points of view, they're saying do it their way or suffer.

To all who say we can't win these battles I say; THANK GOD the Patriots of 1776 didn't give up so easily!

Melton Truck Lines and experiences

Then an update you shall get lol. Where shall I start? Oh I know. So after I went home the first time around with trailer 32167, I went back out for about a week but within that span of a week, I got my first ever workers compensation worthy injury. Uggghhhh. Oldschool and Packrat and our moderators that have done flatbead please tell me if this is a normal way to injury oneself. The novel goes "So I was workin at a SAPA Extrusions plant and course they have way to many restrictions on what a flatbedder can do with their load. They want you to wear like all your Personal Protection Equipment plus a long sleeve shirt and that shirt gets real hot and top it off with I had already had a real stressful day because I got a stomach virus or took way too much vitamin C and so in and out of the bathroom and was real hard on my body before I even got there. I believe they must have changed SAPA Extrusions to Hydro Extrusions either way I shall continue on the matter; So I got up at 6 and did not even get to sleep other than for like a half hour around 3:30am and then really started around 5:45am because I did not really know what I was doing at this particular shipper and the tarps I did not really know how to use their machine and no one was there around 9 that knew what they were doing with the machine. So I basically roughed it out and also I carried the tarps instead of rolled them to where I needed so I am thinking that may have stressed my shoulder a bit much. I was up practically 24 hours and to top that off I could not go anywhere till my 10 was up unless I went 4 miles per hour.

Well around 7am, I get a knock on the door and I go to get up and my shoulder just pops and what I gathered got back into place. It is much too sore sometimes to lift horizontally level with my neck. I have beem addressing the circumstance with utmost caution or at least I try to."

I gather this may have just been my stupidity or nubishness to this. Anyhow, I am on Meltons light duty. Nice thing is I can keep my rig. Im not happy about this injury. Painful.

However I did get a complementary phone ring from Mrs. Angie Buchanan because I made a thoughtful message about getting some customers that I noticed we were not servicing and I am eager to find out if we have gained some more good business. They were construction equipment, farm equipment, and industrial equipment. We serviced just a few of what I suggested. I am very business minded. She even said I could call her just to talk about business ideas when I desire. Thats exciting!

Prayerfully gonna do better. Prayerfully.

Sincerely yours, Victor J. Canfield II

Let's hear it - what do you guys think about the Canadian Truckers?

I second that 100%. Even the "vaccines" they have have caused sterilization, miscarriages, deaths in the millions, and on and on.

If it does not prevent infection or transmission, then it IS NOT a vaccine. You people have been manipulated by our Governments and their propaganda machines to believe suddenly that "vaccines only reduce symptoms" or "doesn't prevent transmission" and other garbage to cover for the ineffectiveness of these faux Covid "vaccines." The WHO, CDC and even the evil little elf Fauci have flip-flopped on their policies throughout this pandemic. Follow the $$$. For you who will argue that it isn't about money, but "public health"?.....Ohhh, whoa is your ignorance.

The vaccine does nothing to stop you from getting it or from spreading it.

double-quotes-end.png

double-quotes-end.png

How are you sure about that? From what I've seen, scientists don't even know for sure how much it prevents infection or transmission.

These are some of the loads I have hauled since coming to my new company. These are some pretty neat but a few pretty high concerning loads. I was impressed with some of the places we get to go. Im going to VMI in Gibsonton, Florida to deliver Fabricated wood product. I will get a picture when I get to delivery.
