Ready to hit the road

I've had my CDL since 2008, but I haven't been in a truck since I finished school in 2008. Now I'm ready to put my license to use and know that I will have to start OTR first. My concern is that I see some companies even want you to have atleast 3 months verifiable experience which I don't. Also, since it's been so long since I've been out of school and not driven, do I need a refresher course before applying to drive or is that something the company will do for me?
