I could use some advice on going to a new company.

I am starting a new company on Monday. I am hoping to get some general advice on going into a company as an "experienced" driver. Just what kinds of things can I expect. Any help is appreciated!

Schneider National CDL Training Program

So this would cover getting your cdl like other companies do instead of the tuition reimbursement? I know they train new cdl drivers already. Looking to get my career started there so very interested in this thread and the info.

So far it would seem like Schneider is going that way. Certainly wouldn't hurt to call and ask!

Schneider National CDL Training Program

I asked the recruiter on their hotline.

I had talked to Schneider back in November and the guy had mentioned that they might be starting something in January. Well here it is mid December and I thought that I should call and ask about it. They are a really good fit for me, except they don't train. So I called today and that was my first question. Low and behold, the guy said they were starting in January!

Schneider National CDL Training Program

I just found out, and thought I should share, that Schneider is starting up their own training program. It kinda sounds like they are pairing with schools to do it. It would be your typical one year contract deal. It is starting in January. As a future driver I find this one exciting.

Class A CDL's and heavy equipment license, is that a thing?

So I am looking to switch carriers and wanted to look into trucking. One thing I would be interested in doing is something with big trucks and heavy equipment. To me, they just seem like they should go together. I'm not really sure what you could or would be doing with that particular skill set though.

I realize that OTR would probably be the best way to start out but I have a wife and kids so that does not work for me.

I guess my question would be, does anyone know what I could do with CDLs and heavy equipment license?
