I drove highway coast to coast for 44 years. Pulled b trains hauling lumber for 16 years then ran reefer from Newfoundland to California. Met a lot of nice people and a lot of bad. I have seen things that would make your hair curl.

Mistake

Trucking is not for everyone I drove for 44 years I got off the road because I was tired of coast to coast running. But I enjoyed my time on the road as well you will have good times & bad just enjoy the good. One thing you should never be on the road driving is scared if have seen lots of things scary things caused by drivers who were not ready. Take care and be safe out there

Why do you think things will "feel right" this time around?

Trucking hasn't changed much at all since you left it last time. Unless something about you, or your approach to this career has changed, I'm afraid you're going to start a vicious cycle all over again.

I'm not being critical. I just like to make people think things through, and find that most folks have lost that practice altogether.
