Whelp, Schneider can no longer cover my costs but the local CDL school, Mike's called and told me just show up tomorrow to drive the course and show up Monday at 7:30 to take the test and worry about money later. I can't say enough nice things about Mike's.
Great news!! Best wishes and get in there and knock it outta the park!

Sometimes the chips don't fall in your favor.
Thank you.
Despite what the rats will claim, planners, DMs, customer service, etc remembers the drivers willing to help save the day.
The load I rescued was for one of our big meat customers. I found out afterward that customer service requested me because they knew I was passing through. More importantly they knew I would make it work and deliver both stops on time.
Exactly! My DM said to me, " I know I can count on you to it get it done and I'll make it up to you". Now, personally, I didn't and don't feel the need for her to make it up to me, I just consider it part of the job. But, true to her word, she then ran me just over 2000 miles in the next 3 days!.....Not sure if that was a reward or punishment! π You know what they say, " No good deed goes unpunished!" lol
Keep on keepin' on and stay safe! π

Nice pic! π
And yeah....sometimes you just gotta play the hand you're dealt!
I just recently 'rescued' a 950 mile load that ended up getting me a completely unintentional 34 reset due to a major delay at the receiver....But I love my DM...She was so grateful that I helped her out of a bind, that she got me $350 in detention and layover pay which definitely eased the pain! lol
Plus, I got to really chill out and catch up on some personal banking and finance stuff, while watching some great movies on Netflix! π
Think I might volunteer to rescue another load sooner rather than later! lol

I'm new to this forum so I need to ask. Is there a way to edit your posts? I was reading what I wrote and see a bunch if errors I'd like to correct but can figure out how to.
No.....
However, you can push the 'create preview' button before you submit your post....that way you see exactly how your writing is going to appear. Then you can make any edits, preview again and submit! π
Best of luck with your future plans...sounds like you've got it worked out. π

Local food service as a rookie
Dang simon, those are some really good miles! Atleast with co driver going with his buddy instead itll be less stress for you dealing with his bad habits. Without him guess youll need to find your own fishing spots
I think you'd be a excellent trainer from what ive seen from ya around the forum.
Yeah.... I love my DM! And she tells me that she loves me! lol Bit weird, since we've never even actually met! π
But; she keeps asking me to 'rescue' loads "coz I know you'll get it done!"
Flattery seems to work; methinks!?
She certainly keeps the wheels turning and she asked me again today to consider being a trainer...."coz we know they'll be trained properly!".......
More flattery! lol But the money they're offering me is insanely good...so definitely worth considering. Especially given my self-professed love of teaching....seems a bit hypocritical if I don't 'put my money where my mouth is' and do it? π
Cheers!
P.S. I dont fish....but felt like jumping in the Passaic river this evening as it's pretty warm here in 'Joizey' and I'm literally parked next to it!

Simon, it wore you out because youre OLD!smile.gif just kidding...many days i come home and im completely beat.
Sad but true! lol π
These days I have to use my 'old age and treachery' to overcome youth and vigor!! lol
Having said that, my team mate got off my truck last week to take 3 weeks off and then he's gonna come back to run with his buddy instead.
Said that the main reason is that I "run too damn hard!!' π
These youngsters today, hey? Can't stand the pace!! lol
So, right now, I'm lovin' the solo life....but still pushing hard...3754 Miles last week. Running on recaps and maximising my time.
It's so darn peaceful in the truck...no incessant phone calls.....no more stops at every darn 'Popeyes' we pass! π
Don't think its gonna last tho'.... the company is pushing for me to be a trainer!
Keep up the good work Rob.... I need that bedtime reading! ππ
Cheers,
Simon

The Benefits Of Staying With Your Starter Company Beyond One Year - article by G-Town
G Town stated that your input becomes important, and so it does. I created a 25 page training manual for my trainees, and I passed it along to my Fleet Manager to give to his newer drivers, hoping it could take some stress off of him. He responded immediately with "OMG! This is awesome! The Fleet Managers are all passing this around and adding tips to it." A few weeks later, he told me that the training department was implementing my information into the incoming company driver orientation classes! How cool is that?
How come we don't have a copy of that for the website?
uh..a lot of it was Prime specific Macros and stuff...but i could edit that stuff out and just leave the "tip" type of stuff. Ill send it when i have time.
Please do......pretty please!? π
I think I may be going to need it!!

Absolutely! As Rainy has said so many times... "Early is on time; on time is late!"
Keep up the great work! π
