I understand what you're saying, but I already paid for half of my private school. I would hate to lose any of that money by backing out. That's my only concern.
Will this be detrimental to my finding a job with a trucking company?Curt, you're going to find that some companies may take a pass on you, but certainly not all. In fact I think many will consider you. They've seen all this stuff, and what you've described is a very common scenario.
I've seen many of your posts with these concerns and it puzzles me why you don't apply to the many Paid CDL Training Programs.
For a person like yourself it's a great option which eliminates the considerable risk you're taking of attending a private school and then not being able to land a job. If the company sponsored program's accept you into their program, then as long as you don't screw up during the classes and training you are a shoe-in for the job. I had issues after attending private school, and it got pretty dicey when I was trying to get a job. I think the company sponsored program's are a Great Way To Go.

I have another question regarding being hired by a company. Q: In 1985 or 1986 I had my license suspended for not paying a fine. I was caught driving while suspended. Later I had my license revoked for driving without insurance (same time frame 1985 or86) I was caught driving after revocation. This all happened 30 some years ago when I was in my twenties. Will this be detrimental to my finding a job with a trucking company?

Seizure free and medication free for 11 years
I am a little confused about the law concerning interstate CDL and seizures. I have been seizure free for 20 years and anti seizure medication free for 11 years. I just passed my DOt physical. I am able now to obtain an interstate CDL correct? I’ve heard conflicting reports and I can’t seem to find anything on the internet. Thanks

I have been giving a lot of thought to trying this. I even tried to do this with Wil-Trans and they turned me down. I was thinking about Roehl. Even a friend at Church suggested them. He used to work for them. The only hesitation is probably a silly one. I don't want to drive through New York City, But if I'm going to be a big rigger, That fear has to go out the window.
Big Scott suggests:
Curt, have you looked into Paid CDL Training Programs? Why not get paid while you learn?
Curt I am in complete agreement with Big Scott. To his point take a look at this:

That is a relief. I'll be honest but smart. Thanks G-Town
Curt it's unlikely to cause an issue.
Just make sure you answer all of the questions on the application truthfully and as accurately as you can. Only provide the information they require, nothing more. For instance if they ask for the last 7 years of your driving record, there is no need to disclose a 30 year old citation.
Good luck!

I have a question. In 1986 or 1987, my regular drivers license was revoked, and then, because I was a stupid kid, I drove after revocation and was cited for it. Will this disqualify me from getting my CDL? I just remembered this because it was so long ago, I had forgotten.
