My First Week at Celadon Indianapolis

I am not sure how current this is.. I attended back in 2013 and I Love Max he was the best! We didn't have to do the brake tests or in cab in the class room that didn't come until we were in a truck but I am sure its all changed. I am actually heading back there in December as I was unable to test out due to a family issue back home. I am very ready this time and I like the fact that I am returning to the original class that taught me what I know.. So I have my permit and medical now and that sucks I have to sit in class but Max is a great guy and will always teach me something.. I really hope that I get more backing time this go round. I am more prepared and if there is any new information please let me know.. ~Sweet Potato

Celadon Driving Academy Denver

I am by no means doubting my ability or anything I was simply informing incase others did not know that Denver is not an option any longer.

Stay positive, keep your head up, and take advantage of every opportunity to learn. You will do great!

Celadon Driving Academy Indy

I have been planning on going back to Celadon for a second go round with school. I was originally scheduled to attend the Denver location but my recruiter informed me today that location has been closed. What I am looking for is some current information. Things have changed so much with them since I was there in 2013. What amount of miles are required for someone going solo. About how long did that take you to do? How is the school now? Hopefully there is someone here either in school now or who has recently completed that can answer some questions. I already have a trainer lined up and approved so that is not an issue for me. I also already have my permit and medical.

Just got a call from my recruiter and low and behold Denver is out as they have closed that location.. its off to Indy for this girl!

That is great, glad you are heading back. You will do awesome. The closest school to me, is the Gadsden, Alabama one, so I am assuming they would send me there. Still weighing my options, though.

I look forward to reading about your experiences.

Good luck, stay safe, and kick arse!

Contradicting Learning Material

Brett or one of the Moderators this one is for you.. I am having an issue between my State manual (Oregon) and the High Road Training and of course everywhere else I have learned in the past 3 years.. My state manual and the test I just failed says that when coupling a tractor to a trailer you must first connect the electrical wiring and then back under the trailer. However I just went over this in the Training here and it is the opposite so which is the right way??? I am confused.. I am really trying to pass but this had me really messed up!! by the way it just the combination that I failed.. can I get some insight??

Ive talked to students at multiple locations..same school that you experienced at indy. Normal student will take 4-6 weeks to get cdl, then one month with trainer. Figure 60 days from Orientation,to your own truck.

And I'm heading back as soon as I take my last test at the dmv tomorrow.. so figure a week or two to get everything back in the mail.

Celadon Driving Academy Denver

I am heading back to Celadon for a second chance. I am trying to find anyone who has attended the Denver school. I am not looking for the negative aspects just what it's like, how big are classes? Any difference from Indy? I left before because I had the wrong attitude about all of this.. I chose to go home on my own.. I have since grown and decided to tough it out for however long it takes. I am now going to utilize my tools here to spend down time studying and learning as much as possible. No distractions! Already have my permit so will work on relearning pre trip

Please let me know if you have attended this location..

160 hours of truck driving school training

That 160 hours is not hard to get. And also remember that classroom time is also included. If you think about how long you train for and remember that your going to be in a truck every day that's pretty easy to come by and it goes by FAST. Just pay attention, dont make excuses, and study!! CDL school is not cheap by any means but these trainers are taking someone who has never been behind the wheel before and making them into Drivers that's 80,000 lbs of equipment that your responsible for so there is a reason its expensive.

You are going to want to get all documentation from your doctor for any ailments you have had in the past. Also I would really research your license suspension you may not have a problem with CR however any other company you will run into problems you need to have your DL in good standing for the past year in order to get a CDL from any state. It is not up to the company its the DOL you go to. Do some research Call the Utah DOL or whatever state you are planning to attend school in.
