Some Questions about orientation.

Thank you for responding, I just typed a reply but I am not sure what happened. The company is W.E. I decided to ask to push back my orientation 1 week. The more I thought about it the more I decided that it wasn't worth going through all the steps necessary to make it work when I could ask to push back orientation 1 week and get my affairs in order. I made a mistake and I scheduled two things on top of each other. I am only human. I hope they allow me to push back orientation until the following Monday. A bus ticket was purchased however I am not using the bus. (Not sure why they purchased a bus ticket without asking me how I would get there) Is it possible they may deny me the option to push back my orientation until the following monday? Thank you.

Some Questions about orientation.

Thank you for responding. W.E. is the company. I just emailed my recruiter asking to push back my orientation 1 week. The more I thought about it the more I realized why would I go through all these steps trying to make it work when I could ask to push back my orientation 1 week, get my affairs in order, and then move forward. I hope pushing back orientation 1 week is something they are ok with. Is it possible they will deny me?

Without knowing what company you're going to, we wouldn't have a clue about how your company training process will go or how far you happen to live from said company. I'd ask your student training coordinator or someone in recruiting. Let them know what's going on and they could give you a better idea.

I train for my company and I've actually been routed to take a trainee home, deliver a load then pick them back up the following afternoon to accommodate a dental appointment, so you never know. My company makes every effort to accommodate things, but often companies won't.

I suggest you ask your company.

Some Questions about orientation.

I have orientation on Monday. I just graduated CDL school. I have some questions if anyone possibly has some answers, they would be very helpful.

I have a dental plan right now and I am trying to get some dental work done. How will I be able to get my work around orientation and training or just the job in general. I am confused as to when I will be home. Will I constantly be on the road? I just realized my next dentist appointment is in the middle of orientation, and I am not sure when I should reschedule it?

Once I am done Orientation and training. Will I be able to move from one state to another? That is also something I am trying to do at the moment.

I need some advice.

Thanks for all the help you guys. I been non stop reading over everything as for some reason I want to be a trucker more than anything else I've ever decided to do. I even had a dream about it last night. Yes the assault was a felony. It was bad. However, I am no longer that same young man. I hate weed, drugs and I can't stand to be drunk. I been out of work due to an injury and that's how I got my eye on trucking. -Before I start applying for both company sponsored and regular Pre-Hires, I have a question.

Should I apply only for the trucking companies within my area? Or is it normal to apply for companies that are many states away? I thought applying for trucking companies was like most jobs and you try to get one close to where you live. Am I wrong about this? Thanks again.

I need some advice.

So, I am almost 30 and I want to change my path and become a truck driver. I have 2 DUI's 10 years ago. I also have an aggravated assault almost 7 years ago. Will these barriers prevent me from ever getting a career as a trucker?

Sometimes we make the wrong choices to get to the right place. I don't use drugs or drink and I am very serious about this career change. I just don't want to go through the motions only to never be able to find work. Honestly, if I could have some advice on how to get some pre-hire letters or anything else that pertains to starting this career, any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.
