Atlas

Hey everyone, I am trying to get my poop in a group so to speak. I need a Motor Carrier Atlas and was wondering the difference in the Rand McNally’s Deluxe edition and the standard edition?

Thanks, Ruck

Maverick CDL Sponsorship Program

Thanks Jeramy! I’m going to call him back tomorrow. I will ask about whether it is deducted or forgiven. Good to know Weston is not gonna BS me. But I have a friend that drives for Maverick and he said the same thing you did about every promise they made they kept. The only concern I have is with the physical agility test due to the fact that I am like an old Cadilac....I’m heavy and sit low to the ground.

If it is the same, except the amount....they do not actually deduct that $30 from your checks. They "forgive" the debt at the new rate of $30 a week instead of $350 a month. You dont pay anything out of pocket unless you leave for any reason. May be good to confirm this with the recruiter. That is how it is working for me though.

Maverick CDL Sponsorship Program

I hope this worked. I tried posting a photo of where he told me about the contract....I mean “promisary note”. Potato~potäto

Yea I hoped back on there to confirm it, it was Keller trucking that has the 6month contract. I’ll ask this week and make 100% sure it’s not a 2 year contract now.

Maverick CDL Sponsorship Program

It is a 2 year contract now at a rate of $30/wk instead of the $350/month. Anything left on it after the two years is forgiven. This is as of Friday when I talked to them. He said they didn’t have the updated file on it and had to semd the old o e. But I am pretty sly....It was via chat so I have his name and videoed the conversation so I have it in writing of sorts.

I just read on Jeramys diary someone said that it’s a 2 yr contract now the recruiter told them that. I was under the impression that is was a 6month contract. What did they tell you?

Maverick CDL Sponsorship Program

Hey everyone, I have been researching Maverick CDL sponsorship program (I chose Maverick because I have heard such good things of them. And not even from people that are getting a referral bonus, but from all sorts of people. People who have even left the company on “not their own terms” and even they have nothing bad to say). I’m gonna call the recruiter back for some follow up questions, but was hoping someone here might know the answer to the biggest question I have.... From what I read on here, they use AR State University for their training. I am interested to know if ARSU uses manual transmission tractors because I DO NOT want an automatic only restriction on my CDL.

Thanks, Ruck

Curious Future Student

Hey everyone, I am getting ready to go to a private school to obtain my class A and endorsements. I have been doing the “High Road” classes on here and learning a lot (thank you for making that available). This post isn’t really about me and school. It is more about questions I have always had about the industry in general. 1. What happens if you get stuck in traffic and you hit the end of your hours? 2. Does the company dictate the route you take to your destination, and if so what happens if you are detoured due to an accident or something? Example...you get a run down I-79 through WV amd there is an accident at mm 16. The Law shuts down the interstate and reroutes vehicles down US Rt 119 off exit 19 and back on at exit 9. The milage is gonna be different than interstate travel. If the milage is shorter do they cut your pay...and if it is longer do they pay the extra? Sorry if these are silly or stupid questions but I am just a curious type person and like to know everything I can about what i am hoping to be my future career.

Thanks, Ruck
