PackRat's 2020 Daily Driving Diary

rofl-3.gifrofl-3.gifrofl-3.gif

Maybe?

One thing I can't figure out is the fender mirror is folded in one direction, while the door mirror is facing the opposite.

I had the curtains closed, laying down and listening to the truck race on the radio when it happened, so I didn't see it, only heard/felt it. I thought the trailer had been backed into, not the cab. I have yet to receive any damage to a trailer. It's always the truck the idiots aim for. All three times, I've been driving a red tractor, too.

In sports cars it's called "Arrest Me!" Red.

In PackRats case it should be called "Hit Me!" Red!

Perhaps it's time to get another color tractor?!?

Looks like your typical OTR driver to me, us day cabs have standards after all.

HEY!!! I RESEMBLE THAT REMARK!!!!

Hopefully you don't resemble that driver!

Portable Transportation Option: X-Treme Scooter

Looks fun.. you got one?!?!?

Rob D. ^^^^ check THIS out~! ;)

0787086001598310408.jpg

Yes. My scooter / project. Tiny wheels, short wheelbase but yes, fun. People seem to like it. Couple shout-outs. One passer-by when parked for break and photo said we wants to get one.

Broke spring-suspension seat moving it (not sitting on it!). Going with plastic-fatigue / someone else's large a$$, not mine... Down to close to 150 I think now... Suspension post and seat I put on folding bike fit and is pictured!

One more mod. to do... need to stabilize and reinforce steering rod. Too much movement when turning... make wheel offset from center. Thinking a through bolt to keep position and pipe to reinforce it will work.

Portable Transportation Option: X-Treme Scooter

Folding bikes, ebikes, folding ebikes, etc. were a somewhat popular topic here a while back...

Came up with this one...

$55 to buy... about $200 "all in". Wound up with 2 new sets of batteries, 4 spare headset bearing pairs. New charger included.

36-volts, 350 watts, 20 mph top speed, 22-range. This was reportedly there most popular model. Sold for about $400 before being replaced by 48-volt model.

Seat comes off, handlebars/steering shaft comes off...

Glad positive things came your way Bubba, sounds like you haven't quit on trucking either, just a pit stop. But glad life has stabilized for you.

Be well

Haven't heard from Mr Lee in a while. He had an interesting yet challenging go at trucking plus some health issues. I sincerely hope he is okay. I enjoyed some of his posts, hopefully he just hasn't had time to be online and not a member who is now RIP....

Thanks Moe and Anne M..

Back to doing my Handyman thing. Actually had a record week for me... pulling in a solid 4 figures... all cash, and another nice pile of cash still due to come in.

Best friend bought a house for me in Milwaukee which I will be living in and fixing up. Not a great neighborhood but very utilitarian - centrally located, 2-car garage, full basement, finished attic (more storage space). "Good bones". $32,500 cash. Currently occupied so I can't move in for a while yet. Paying too much and driving too much from current abode in Lake Geneva but all-in-all... doing OK - especially considering the current state of the world.

As for trucking... it looks like that is not meant to be right now for me.

See my medical professionals at the end of the month. Expecting all good news there. Med. Cert. expiring soon. Planning on getting a 2 year this time around...

Thanks Moe. You be well too!
