CB Question(s)

JoAnne,

I didn't want to hijack the Crashed! thread so I thought I would make this comment here. That is one of those situations where I have seen a CB be very handy. More than once I've heard a driver say something like "Back it down westbound wreck at MM143". This gives folk a warning that there's a traffic jam ahead. This is one of the reasons I think that CBs are really handy. Just my opinion

Does anyone here use a tire pressuer monitoring system?

I've been reading recently in RV forums about Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS) that seem like a good idea. Jamie's post about 3 blown tires in 2 months got me thinking. I realize it might not be practical for a trailer as they change regularly, but since most folks drive the same tractor all the time it seems like it might be something worth looking into. I'm wondering if it's one of those things that sounds good on paper but doesn't work in the real world or what. Does anyone have any experience with them on big trucks?

Just a hint, carry copies with you, not the originals. If for some reason the originals are lost you're in a world of hurt replacing them. Something else you may want to check into is if you can record the documents in the county where the court is. It costs some money but you can then get certified originals for a few bucks and you don't have to worry about losing the originals. Just suggestions.

You might also want to check on the filler cap, it might specify what you need.

Introduction!!!

Welcome. Actually Turtle told a little fib, a couple of folks around here do bite, but kind of like an old tom cat, it's a display of affection. Rainy on the other hand I can't figure out, her truck beeps at her. Maybe you can solve the mystery.

You might want to check out this page. It says that some are orange and Rotella is yellow. Don't know anything about the page but it says they've been around since 1929. Take it for what it's worth.

Site/App idea

Make it user supported/updated? Maybe charge a little bit to the hotels, like 5-20 bucks a year to have them verify their information. Send them an email to for a tickler and maybe let folk's reserve in app so the hotel know where it came from. Just some ideas from a brain that's working overtime on Saturday morning.

Bath day

Ya know, it is Saturday. My wife makes me take one every Saturday whether I need it or not why should the truck be any different.

Rainy I think your truck beeps because it's just so damn happy you're it's driver.
