Cdl training

Hello everyone I live here in nyc and there are driving school here that help you get your cdl permit and pass cdl road test. I have read that most companies require you get you go through a 160 accredited cdl training school program.The driving schools in nyc charge from 1000 to 1500 dollars. They provide cdl prep and 15 to 20 hours driving lessons. If i go this route and get my cdl through them.

What are the possibilities of getting hired with a mega carrier or small otr company? If a company hires you ,do you they make you through some training with a trainer? Are you require to commit to under some type of contract for certain amount of time? Any input is appreciated! Thanks
