Waiting list for Maverick’s CDL Sponsorship

Thanks for that info, I was thinking of taking Amtrak as far as I could and a bus the rest of the way if I couldn't get all the way there with the train.

David L, Here’s how it works. They will pay for a Greyhound ticket for you. But if you are like me...I did not really want to apend 23-1/2 hours on a bus when I could drive it in 11-1/2. So they gave me that option amd they WILL re-imburse you up to the cost of what the greyhound ticket would cost. However, you won’t get your re-imbursement money until your first “paycheck” with them. If you are doing the CDL sponsorship program then that means no pay check until AFTER CDL school. But they do give you a pre-paid credit card when you go to CDL school. Look below for my post on Orientation week. Hope this helps. And good luck!!!

Looking forward to reading more from your experiences in their training. Did you pay your way to Training School, or did they pay your way?, just wondered, and how did you get there bus, plane train?

Wils Trans cdl training just got approved for school

Hey Jared, I'll be going to the class with you on the 17th in Missouri for Wil Trans. I've been reading alot of good things on this site about them and trucking period, really looking forward to a new career! I've been taking the tests on here and it's really been a great thing for me.

Just got the phone call that I begin cdl training on 9-17-2018. So stoked to go to a school with only 6 students max. Been reading these diaries here for months and got a lot of useful info. Now back to studying my brains out for the written test. Ill keep this post updated once I'm on my way to Missouri.

HO Wolding

Hi Andrew, just wanted to wish you good luck in school! I'm going to be starting my company sponsored CDL Training school in Missouri on Sept. 17th with Wil-Trans. Being on this site has just gotten me more excited and looking forward to starting my new career. I've been taking the tests on here and I'm super glad I have, I really appreciate the availability to do this and it's really helping me retain so mush info for my permit test. Thank you so much for this resource Brett and company! Dave

No it is not something that is advertised on their website however the school that I go to, 160 Driving Academy has an agreement with them. They front the money for the schooling and I signed a contract to work for them for a year. The school said it’s not something they do a lot though. Maybe they are short drivers in the Chicago region? Maybe an Illinois thing since 160 is exclusively in Illinois. I’m not sure. I had every intention of paying out of pocket and going to them but when they offered the money I gladly accepted. I was going to them anyway. Plus like you and everyone has said I’m staying a year anyway might as well have them pay. In a year I’m free and clear. Hope this helps.
