Failed non-DOT drug test in past

Thanks to all who have commented. I planned on being honest on all applications, just wanted to get some feedback from actual truckers. I don't think I'm the only future trucker who has a failed drug test in my past. I made the mistake and I'll deal with the fallout. It's good to see that there r trucking companies willing to hire someone in my situation, C.R. England and Pam. I'm just gonna keep on studying and take my CDL Permit test in December, and get my DOT physical and drug screening soon after that. Thanks again everyone for the feedback. πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘πŸ˜Š

I'm new to this forum, but have been reading all the post I possibly can in-between studying for my CDL Permit. I feel for this guy, I really do. But I have a question of my own to ask. I've been off of weed for about 22 months, but have a failed drug test for marijuana in my past. While I plan on telling the truth come application time, WOULD I be better off simply "forgetting " I failed a drug test, or could my honesty about the test be my saving grace? Please let me know any thoughts any one has on this. Thanks!!!

NO. Trucking companies have ways of finding the truth. Don’t test them.

Answer all questions on any form honestly, to the best of your ability. Job application; give only the information asked, nothing more. Medical long form; disclose every condition requested and the treatment. CDL and CLP forms; same approach.

Failed non-DOT drug test in past

Hello all. My first post here. I asked this same question last night, but on a 3 yr old thread, so I am going to post it again. I have been clean from marijuana for about 22 months now. However, I have a failed drug test in my past, while applying for a baggage handler position. It was a non-DOT job. I'm hoping to get my CDL Permit and head off to truck driving school next year. So my question is this: Is my dream to become a truck driver dead in the water, or are there companies that will still accept me, if I can( and I will) pass my DOT physical and drug screening? Thanks to all who answer..
