Was woke up at Mt Vernon IL TA by the sound of a crash and I felt it, thought something had hit my truck. I was parked by exit of TA across from the Pilot, got out and found this...

Found out he had started pulling out and didn’t look properly😳😳 Guy that hit him was delivering behind the pilot to the Pepsi beverage place and was almost done with his day😔😔

Made it all the way safely, no damage, went super slow around all bends and babied other bumpy parts of drive. I’ve already told my FM I’m not doing a load like that again, I’d refuse it if I found it like that at customer. Was wrong when I thought it was good to go, the customer I delivered to can’t unload it because it is not a flatbed and said customer in Wisconsin should know better. They have to get a rigging crew to come out and unload from trailer Tuesday or Wednesday at earliest, $1500-$2000 which they are billing to customer in WI. I dropped the trailer and bob tailed to my next load at fedex in Memphis.

Mik, where did you pick up that load? We have a Reynolds Transfer & Storage in Madison, WI.

Thats who loaded it for the customer I picked up from in Fennimore, WI......the customer has had previous machine loads go out in Dry Vans, I believe one similar to this...

The forklift is rated to 35,000 lbs, this moving company also has one rated to 100,000lbs. They were hired to load my trailer by customer, all customer forklifts only go up to 5,000lbs

Load was 11,000lbs... Forklift could not enter trailer, to heavy.. A question, think going through Chattanooga be good, been thinking about that? With load on the rear end, it’s going to Huntsville..

So I'm descending a %7 grade today and I'm doing about 40 mph in I think 7th. It's just a two lane at this point. I'm loaded at probably 75k gross and inexperienced at mountain driving so I'm taking my time getting down. This other truck comes flying around the bend behind me and I just swore he was gonna hit me. He ended up slowing down enough. But my question is, was I in the wrong or was he/she going too fast? Where does the fault lay? And would it be a preventable?

Did u have ur flashers on? I would say the other guy was going to fast and fault would be on him..

I was gonna stop for a 30 and continue on a load where I started the day in Chattanooga, TN. FM called and told me they needed a repower done, so now im doing a 10 and sitting down for at a counter for a sit down meal, they also have a subway(competing with Starbucks to take over the world) and a small store. It looks like it is pretty much the only thing close by the exit....Decent size dirt lot...
