Going Great With Crete So Far

Okay makes more sense. I'm sure I'll understand better when I'm out there. Are Resets a bad thing? Or just you try not to do them so you can keep turning miles?

It's not about miles, it's about the 70 hour clock we have to use in 8 days.

If you use 8 3/4 hours every day, you'll never need a reset.

Resets are not required, unless you run out of hours. After 8 consecutive days, you get the hours back from 9 days ago.

Past 3 days in a row, I have driven between 477 and 491 miles each day, using between 8.1 and 8.3 hours each day.

Can someone explain to me the rookie who is still waiting on orientation and training what the average miles someone should have before a reset or will I learn that in training. I'm sorta confused on everyone is asking Jaime why he had to do a reset already ?? Help my rookie brain understand lol.

Hello people. I'm cleared by my doctor. All better 😊. Ready to get on the road. Those who followed me know I had orientation set with Crete Had to cancel due to my injury. Since being better havent had much luck reaching my recruiter, idk if he is just busy or assumed I'm another person who wasnt serious about going. When I last talked to him he was asking how I did in CDL School because Day 1 of orientation with them I would have to take a road test and backing test even tho I'm new to see if I am ready to go with trainee. That makes me nervous I struggled in CDL School. It was by the grace of God I passed my CDL Exam 1st try.

Anywho my sister in law. She finished training with Prime recently and she is swearing up and down on how great the company us especially the training. She is telling me if I struggled in CDL I'll get the best training from Prime and would take my test after being out with the trainer 60,000 miles. She tood me to seriously consider. I'm not tryna be wishy washy. I've been set on Crete. I guess my brain is working overtime. . .

Honestly, there are great trainers and bad trainers everywhere. You could have a completely different experience. Even at Prime you could get a bad trainer, despite how much i love it.

Do what you feel is right.

Awesome! I'm waiting to go to Orientation with them out of their terminal in Wilmer, TX. I have to go with a trainer first. Best wishes

Two 15+ speeding tickets 2 years ago, No jobs will hire me because I'm fresh out of CDL School. Any suggestions???!?!!?

King O ,

I'm no expert. But 2 speeding tickets both over 15mph is two too many . I dont think most companies would hire you right now, not enough time has passed. Like I said I'm just out of CDL School and waiting for my orientation start date so I'm NO expert. But you're going to get quite a few comments saying you're in a tough position. Gotta control that speeding too man , it's seen as reckless driving. Best wishes.

Pre Orientation Mistake

Guess who injured her foot and had to push back orientation with Crete? Me. 😢 bummed but my recruiter told me it wasn't a big deal and to just let him know when to reschedule. I see my podiatrist on Wednesday. Should be cleared then, not a bad injury. I just feel bad, dont want the recruiter to think I'm not committed or I'm wishy-washy. He was real cool about it. He said either way I'm a new driver so I have to do my 6-8 weeks training. Orientation can happen whenever. I just dont want to be out of a truck too long. Anyway thanks everyone I'll be keeping everyone updated.

What do you miss?

Old School, I LOVE smothered pork chops. My favorite meal is fried pork chops tho with some mashed potatoes and green beans 😊😊 delicious ! Sounds like you had a great time with your daughter. I'm not a great cook but I'm sure I'll miss the freedom of cooking whenever.

I miss cooking in my kitchen at home. I love to have friends or family over and share a great home-cooked meal with them. Last week I stopped in Branson and took a 34 hour break at my youngest daughter's house. She wanted me to cook smothered pork chops for them.

I enjoyed that thoroughly. She learned how to cook them, and I got immeasurable pleasure out of the whole experience. When I take time at home my wife will usually let me cook for someone.
