I graduated from college and could not find a way to fit in a a corporate structure.
Opened a cafe with a partner in San Francisco and did that for 18 years.
I'd always wanted to try OTR driving and so I tried it.
That was almost 5years ago. Three and a half years at Prime and one and a half years in Canada/USA.
What can I say. I've been bitten by the lifestyle and I love it.

Old School Responds To Criticisms After Busting The Free Agency Myth
This website/blog/tutorial is the best thing to happen to new truckers.
I learned far more from this site than my CDL School. I'm out here for over 5 years now, but from my first year on, I've been able to help others with some of their questions. You'd be surprised how many times I get a driver showing me his CAT Scale ticket and then ask me how the Tandems should be adjusted. Stuff like that.

Prime Trucking Flatbed Division: Comments & Complaints?
I just started trucking a little more than a year ago. Started with Prime. Been driving reefer as a company driver. I don't have many financial responsibilities right now so I don't push myself real hard at all. Not counting the weeks of the truck in the shop. ..or taking 4 days hometime. ..my bad weeks are grossing $500. Good weeks grossing $1100. Guessing the average to be $800. I researched over a year...no regrets@ Prime.

The Benefits Of Staying With Your Starter Company Beyond One Year - article by G-Town
I was working towards the one-year-mark while at Prime,Inc. Team driving and having a good time. But, I knew I could make more money. Everywhere else I applied with higher pay was requiring 3 years experience. So I did that with no accidents.
Now I drive for a Canadian Truck Company. I get twice the Hometime as Prime Inc company driver and a 23 percent pay increase. Five years anniversary in September and still having a great time out OTR.
Could not have done it without the help of this webpage. Thanks everyone.
