Medical Examiner's Cert expired, retest?

First off I live in California.

I was due for my Medical Examiner's physical in October but I opted not to renew at the time. I was 39 weeks pregnant and miserable and didn't think I would ever need a CDL again 🙄

Fast forward 9 months later and I fall into a career opportunity that requires me to have my Class B.

So my question is, do I need to completely retest now that my license has been downgraded to Class C for so long? Or can I just get it reinstated if I waltz into DMV with a new card and pay whatever fees?
