Wester express contract

I just have a question Can Western Express charge me for a beech of contract if I left do to medical reasons They just sent me an email stating I have 7 days to either come back to work for them or buy my contact or they will send it to collection I was only with them maybe 3 weeks and had to leave do to medical reasons my mother had brain cancer and now has died and I am now dealing with my own medical issues and can no longer drive over the road due to all the appointments I am doing
